My Learning Experience

We often take for granted the failures that we all experience through life. Whether it is not accepting our failures or not using them as a learning experience. I personally, like many others, been through quite a few failures. There are three that I want to address, that is the time I moved to Arizona, taking my education for granted, and getting fired from a job. During high school, I was in a relationship that was going well until we had to make a life changing decision. That came when we had to decide what college we wanted to attend, something we never really took serious until we actually had to make a decision. When I finished last semester, I began to think what I really wanted to do with my life when it comes to my career. I began my semester at Northridge as an Accounting major and few semesters in I wasn’t sure if this is a career I want to pursue, so this semester I decided to adventure into another major. Getting recommendation from counselors and doing research on my own, I started looking to a couple of majors; that is Management, Finance, and liberal studies. As a result, this semester I decided to take management classes to see if this major was something I’m interested in. This decision may have delayed extended the length of my education but nevertheless I decided to take the chance. After this semester, I’m not sure what I’m going to do regarding my major, but it’s a problem I need to solve. In the textbook, Developing Management Skill by David A. Whetten, it talks about a four-step procedure for analytical decision making (Whetten & Cameron, 2015, p. 140-142). I feel like this is something I can do to help me figure out what I want to do regarding my major. I’m at a point where fear about not knowing what career I want to pursue is beginning to worry me. I’m not sure if my decision to adventure into a different major was a wrong idea but hopefully I can use this as another learning experience whether it was a right or wrong
