My chosen behaviour change topic is increasing my healthy eating. The reason why I have chosen this particular topic is because unhealthy foods has become such a major contribution towards my lifestyle and is something i need to improve right away as a young individual. My current pattern of behaviour is constantly consuming unhealthy foods three to four times a week which has caused me to gain weight and become very unfit. Whenever i have the chance to eat unhealthy i would take it. My daily routine consists of buying take away after or during working hours, snacking on lollies or chocolates during class breaks, visiting fast food restaurants or cafes, drinking sodas on a daily basis, and eating take away for dinner occasionally. By inserting a SMART goal in my life, it can help me get to where i want to be which is eating healthier. My overall goal in life is to be a healthier me and having a positive mindset. I want to be active and eat healthy because i know if i start aiming high at a young age my long term future will be successful health wise. I truly believe I can reach that stage of being a healthy young women and achieving my goal. By having family/friends/coaches supporting me and watching my progress along the way will really motivate to succeed and maintain that goal. Having to take action needs 100% commitment. I need to be extremely motivated in order to reach my successful goal meaning preparing meals the night before, switching to a positive attitude, be in a better mindset, surrounding myself with other people who are reaching the same goal as i am and really focus on moving forward. My realistic goal is something so simple, but starting of with something easy will then follow through and become a bigger and better goal. By switching small things like avocado to butter, actually eating breakfast, adding more greens to my meal, adding fibre to my diet, basically replacing healthier options with unhealthier foods. If a habit can begin with something small and achievable i can gradually keep adding other small simple goals to receive a bigger outcome. My aim by November 2016 is to have a complete …show more content…
I fear that I wont reach the time frame I 've set for myself and could possibly be delayed which will lower my confidence and motivation. However by being organised and having good motivation i can overcome that doubt. My goal I 've set for myself is to eat completely healthy by November 2016 however one difficulty I most probably experience is laziness, unable to prepare meals the night before, lack of motivation and constantly being tired throughout the week. To overcome that obstacle good preparation must take place for example keeping a diary and recording personal progress. Another obstacle that I might face is negativity by individuals around me causing myself to be discouraged and think twice about my final goal. This can be solved by remaining positive and only interacting with people who are trying to reach the same goal. Wanting to reach this goal desperately lack of preparation may occur, however by following up meals, keeping track of the days to exercise, looking up recipes, and being on top of everything this will bring me one step closer to my ultimate
My Negative eating habits and recent medical troubles are what prompted me to choose a healthier diet as my behavior Change Projects. I recently went to the doctor and I was informed of my high triglyceride levels and I was put on medication. In addition, I am vitamin D and B deficient. After, visiting my doctor I knew I had to make a change in my life. In the Past year I have gained a little over ten pounds. So not only is this project helping me improve my diet, but has also given me a new incentive to lose those extra pounds.
Eggs came first. Millions of years before mammals, eggs existed, their hard shells unlike her mammalian sister who waddles around, heavily crippled with the burden of her womb. Eggs conferred evolutionary advantage.
Since the dawn of humanity, exercise has been crucial for physical survival. In recent times, however, exercise is losing its significance to human survival. Some would argue that it already has lost its significance, and as exercise becomes less important, people exercise less. According to fitness.gov, only 33% of adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity each week (citation). Clearly there is a problem. However, there is still a fraction of the population that exercises diligently. Why do these people stick with it? Exercise has countless advantages that are still extremely important to our lives. So even though the need of exercise may appear to be diminishing, the practical effects should be enough to encourage people
High school education is for students to learn the basic information that is needed to prepare them for college. It is critical for students to feel that it isn’t a waste of time for them to wake up and go to high school everyday. Is it right for students to not come to school because they feel high school is a waste of their time? Majority of students has also felt that the courses they are attending aren’t giving them enough information that will be useful beyond high school. Shouldn’t students be in classes that will benefit them in the future? Should students be able to know what might be their strengths, and weaknesses in the courses that are required to be taken for a certain major? High schools should offer useful courses because it

I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why.
There are plenty of people that do not pay close attention to the nutrition labels on food or do not understand what’s in the food that we eat. If we are expecting the parents, adults, or some of the children to be healthy and are not able to read the nutrition label, how can we expect them to have healthy lifestyles? In order for this new generation be healthy and active. We need to provide them with the support and resources they need. In order, to have a healthy routine. We should be able to offer the support that needs to be able to receive a better outcome for our future generations and as well as the current one.
After a long deliberation I decided to do my behavior modification project on my unhealthy eating habits. There are many meaningful reasons why I choose this as my behavior to modify. I want to kick start a healthy lifestyle change by eating healthier and being more active. Another upside to modifying this behavior is too hopefully *fingers crossed* lose a few unwanted pounds. The long term goal of this change is to live a happier, healthier life, and become more confident in myself. I have high hopes that I can achieve all of these goals by cutting out junk food and sweets and replacing those items with nutritious and balanced food.
My measurable, specific and realistic goal for this quarter is to exercise at least 10 hours a week by weightlifting, running, and swimming for the next 10 weeks. To be able to do that, I would need to have positive reinforcement to keep me going, help give me that little push that I need every day. One positive reinforcement that I absolutely love to use is food. After a hard day of working out, I buy myself something nice to eat, like good pizza or burritos. This way I become more likely to work out knowing that I will get something doo to eat after. I like to believe that food is my number 1 enforcer. It will always be there when I need it, it satisfies me tremendously, and overall it is just ridiculously reinforcing. As a result I try to
Eating Responsibly To eat responsibly means to know what you are eating and knowing what you are putting into your body, whether it is healthy for you or not. It’s a sad fact that the typical American diet (high in meat and processed foods) is not healthy. There are a lot of different ways to stay healthy, but it can also be very difficult to follow a good diet plan all the time. I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I have tried to eat well before all of my classes. I include the necessary protein of eggs and sausage, and include a fruit of some kind.
Now a days everyone complains of how tired we feel, of how we have gained weight, and probably what we hear the most is why we can’t have healthy looking skin like all the superstars. There are so many choices to make when starting to eat healthy. People begin to question should I eat everything is the food pyramid, should I be counting all of my calories. Starting to eat healthy can be a bit overwhelming for everyone and everyone is thinking that starting process is difficult or that they are being peered pressured and that’s one of the main reasons why people quit before even starting.
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
A healthy lifestyle is usually picked up as we get older. However, think of how much more beneficial it would be for our bodies when we get older, if we would have learned and adapted to a healthier lifestyle when we were younger? Teaching your kids how important a healthy diet is, will help them maintain that lifestyle in their older years. Not to mention have lower health risks, higher self-esteem and it will give them the energy they need to keep up with their eating habits and maintain their body weight.
Any individual that leads a healthy lifestyle will say that healthy living is more than just a fad or goal, it’s a way of life. Changing certain aspects of one’s current lifestyle to become healthier is not the final goal, rather, the objective of setting these short and long term goals is maintenance. Therefore, I choose to change an aspect of my current lifestyle that I felt would facilitate the improvement of my health and would later become a change that I can maintain over the course of my life; I choose to increase the amount of water I drink per day to improve my inner bodily health. I decided on this change because I feel that setting a smaller goal that I could easily monitor and execute will expedite future changes to my lifestyle,
I know in the back of my mind that I need to eat healthier and exercise more, but I never actually put my thoughts about it into action. I need to keep myself in the right mindset to accomplish my goals of making myself healthier. I often will get distracted and forget all about what I had planned on doing; I need to focus. I think also having someone else there to push me and make sure I keep at the good habits will keep me from straying away. I feel like I have plenty of time to go and exercise or think “Oh, I can eat something healthy during my next meal.” However, the next thing I know, the day is over and I didn’t keep to my word. It’s a lot harder than I realized, and I’m still trying my best to get better at
