Margret Onyemakono Efue, my aunt is not only a very strong woman but her life is a depiction of what God can do for you when you have faith in him. She is the kind of person that’s is very committed to her faith. However, her journey to becoming the woman she is today was a struggle. She was born February 19th 1953 into a family with many hardships. This affected her not only personally but family wise as well. Her mom was divorced by her husband, so her mother left his home by the time Margret had only turned one. Jeannette’s mother, Rose Mary is another story altogether; there is very little about what her parents were like. There was the time when the kids found the diamond ring and the mother refused to sell it, even though Jeannette had to point out that they could buy some food. "That’s true, Mom said, but it could also improve my self esteem. And at times like these, self esteem is even more vital than food" (p. 186, para 2).
Jeannette's mother let her children roam free and protect themselves against the dangers of the world. “fussing over children who cry only encourages them, ….. its positive reinforcement for bad behavior” pg.17. This caused Jeannette at age 3, to fall into fire and go to the hospital for months. Jeannette's mother didn’t want to have to deal with her children and told them to figure things out for themselves. This selfish act done by her mother forced her children to grow up faster. Therefore Jeannette resented her parents and wanted to make a better life for not only herself but her future children. Her parents meet at a social gathering in town and where married shortly thereafter. Marie’s name was chosen by her grandmother and mother, “because they loved to read the list was quite long with much debate over each name.” If she was a boy her name would have been Francis, so she is very happy to have born a girl. Marie’s great uncle was a physician and delivered her in the local hospital. Her mother, was a housewife, as was the norm in those days and her father ran his own business. Her mother was very close with her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. When her grandmother was diagnosed with asthma the family had to move. In those days a warm and dry climate was recommended, Arizona was the chosen state. Because her grandma could never quite leave home, KY, the family made many trips between the states. These trips back and forth dominated Marie’s childhood with her uncles and aunts being her childhood playmates.

Carla Tate is our main character that has MMR as a disability. She is a young women, twenty-four years old, with a slender but beautiful appearance. Carla has just graduated from a special education boarding school and is returning home to her family. Carla’s mother (Elizabeth Tate) is overbearingly protective, does not appreciate all of the abilities that Carla has acquired. Her father (Bradley Tate) is a recovering alcoholic who is sympathetic and supportive of Carla, who at the same time has to deal with his domineering wife. Carla has two sisters Heather (who happens to be a lesbian) and Caroline (who is planning a wedding). Carla’s sister quickly bond again upon Carla’s return. They are supportive of Carla and her abilities.
My grandmother was born at a time when the Japanese had invaded Korea. At those times girls were not considered to be very important and guys were valued. That has not changed a whole lot even today. Yet my grandma was an extraordinary women, she was the youngest girl in her family and her mother died when she was only five years old. She went to about third grade because Korea doesn't have a public school system and learned most of her reading and writing skills through her older sisters, who knew a little more than her. My grandma was a fast learner and was able to learn Korean and even Japanese quickly. Living under a very strict father she was not able to go farther than the front yard. She was often discouraged in learning stuff such as math, history, and reading and writing. Most of these stuff was often taught only to boys that could afford it. Girls were not taught anything but how to cook and clean. Regardless of her sex she desired for something better. She learned these basic skills independently and even exceeded in them. She loved reading books and read what she could find and she is the most intelligent person I know.
Throughout my life I always been compared to my friends, just because I hangout with them doesn’t mean that I do the same thing s that they do, like taking drugs and drinking alcohol. We may do some things that are similar like go to the same movies or listen to some of the same music. My friends always hangout they never give a damn about their looking best or the condition of their clothes, we never put on a show to get attention, but this one person does, this my ex-girlfriend, Melissa Madden.
This lady is the most wonderful person I 've ever met. She is old, affectionate, and intelligent. It took me eighteen years to realize how much this extraordinary person influenced my life. She 's the type of person who charms everyone with her stories and experiences. She always time for her family and friends. She is the kind of leader who does everything to keep her family together and in harmony. She is my grandmother.
I have met many people so far in this life, but the person I enjoy remembering the most is my husband Jeff. He was born and raised in Tennessee. He is six feet tall, weighs two hundred sixty seven pounds,he has dark brown eyes, and such a nice smile. His hair is jet black with just a few silver and white strands throughout. He is a very big and strong character of a man. And yet he is the most gentle, kind and caring man that I have ever met. Jeff has a sexy southern drawl to his voice. The one person who has influenced my life greatly is my husband, the first reason being because of his positive attitude, his intelligence, and the way he expresses his love.
