“Diversity is an aspect of human existence that cannot be eradicated by terrorism or war or self-consuming hatred. It can only be conquered by recognizing and claiming the wealth of values it represents for all (Aberjhani, 2007).” Over the last 30 years, multicultural counseling has developed tremendously. As America becomes more ethnically diverse, counselors have recognized that clients are dissimilar, firstly by their cultural temperament and secondly by the nature of their troubles. Multicultural psychology is the methodical study of all facets of social behavior as it transpires in surroundings where persons of different cultural backgrounds come across each other. Multicultural consciousness is an empathetic, compassionate, and inquisitive gratitude towards the historical backgrounds, principles, practices, and regimes of minority groups. Included in these groups of people may be variances of racial background, beliefs, religious conviction, socioeconomic status, sexual category, sexual orientation, debilities, or even age. Multicultural counseling proposes that even in a therapy setting, alterations between the client and counselor should be acknowledged. The therapist should identify that the patron is not the same as the counselor them self. Without wanting the client to be like him, the incisive multiethnic therapist is conscious of differences between himself and the client. It is significant to comprehend that individuals inside these groups are as diverse from one group as from the other ones. It is imperative to be very careful not to stereotype persons. There are individuals who are not anything like the stereotypes we have of them in each of these groups (Chism,2003).

Furthermore, the concentration is not on ‘professionals’ deciphering problems. It is on individuals discovering through discussions, the positive, favored, and formerly unrecognized and concealed possibilities controlled inside themselves and unobserved stories (Hartman, A, 2010).
Lastly, it’s important to recognize that qualified counselors never master the capability of understanding every single cultural dissimilarity; this is a persistent state of education. Knowledge base will cultivate as counselors work with a larger number of diverse clients. Employed in this area of specialized counseling will recurrently provide therapists with chances to gain new perceptions and expertise with each new client.
