The multi-billion dollar company Starbucks has become a popular destination for coffee lovers in many countries. So far, Starbucks has shops located in over nearly 50 countries: Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, El Salvador, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States and Wales. Since the beginning of Starbucks, they have been committed to being a “people business”. Thus meaning that they infuse loyalty and passion in its customers and partners to continue to be ahead with a market share of 36.7% market share. The products offered includes roasted and handcrafted high- quality/premium priced coffees, tea, a variety of fresh food items and other beverages. In addition to coffee, they sell tea products and other licensed trademarks. Companies found within the Starbucks stores are Teavana, Tazo, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Starbucks VIA, Starbucks Refreshers, Evolution Fresh, La Boulange and Verismo.

The very first Starbucks store to open shop was located in Seattle, Washington, United States. Current CEO, Howard Schultz joined the company in 1832. Howard implemented the “Your special blend” program, those that are eligible are employees that are working 20 hours or more per week. The blend may include, 401 (k) matching and discounted store purchase. Also, the company implemented the Starbucks college achievement plan which includes a complete bachelor 's degree with full tuition reimbursements. The company also incorporates employee recognition programs, career sabbaticals, and other time-off programs. Perks of working in-store consists of 30% off in-store and online purchases, 1 pound of coffee, boxed K-Cups, or tea a week. The company has the “goal to build a diverse workforce, increase competencies shape a culture of inclusion and develop a diverse network of suppliers”
