The beginning of the movie began with Mr. Jones appearing on a construction site. The viewer is not aware of is that Mr. Jones is not employed by the construction company nor does anyone working on the site know Mr. Jones. While working, he began to display an award display of physical movements that he appeared to lack any control over. He works alongside a man named Howard. Mr. Jones claims that he came to the construction site because the voices told him to give one hundred dollars to a man named Howard. Since he did not know of a Howard, this must be who the voices were referring to. Auditory hallucinations are most frequently associated with bipolar disorder. Despite that association auditory hallucinations are common in bipolar disorder. Anywhere from twenty to fifty percent of patients suffering with bipolar disorder experience auditory hallucinations. (2010) When a patient suffering bipolar disorder experiences euphoria they enjoy how it feels. They are confident and on top of the world. Their prefrontal lobe is not working correctly and does not process information and consequences how a normal brain would. This sense of euphoria often leads to bad choices. A few of the negative consequences could be spending money without any sense of cost or responsibility, sex without any thought of the consequences, and traveling without thought of who you have left behind. (2011) The intense feelings that a patient experiencing bipolar disorder go though often lead them to seek relief by any means necessary. There is no though about costs when they are in this thought process. Some patients self-harm themselves doing things such as cutting or burning themselves to inflict pain. This cycle could lead to sever injury or suicide.
