In general, I thought that this class was a pretty good easy class. I liked that we were about to work with the same topic throughout the course of the class. For my topic that I picked for both of the essay and the visual argument was books vs. movies. I really like my topic because it is a very polarizing topic, people either like books more or they like the movie more. While I was trying to find reasons to pin the two against each other, I found out that most of the time if people have read the book before than most likely they thought the book was a lot better than the movie. I thought that they helped with pointing out some of the things that I might have done wrong. For example, the peer reviews helped the most with my word count. A few times I didn’t have enough words in the writing. In the argument essay I didn’t have enough words and the peer review helped me realize that in time to add another example of authors that didn’t like the movie adaption and that was enough to get enough words in the writing.
I didn’t really think of the rhetorical analysis papers as an aid to the author statement when I was writing them. Know that I think about it know I can see how they are similar to the author statement because it was a summary of what the main essay was about while listing off the rhetorical appeals and target audience. However, at the time I didn’t really think about the rhetorical analysis papers as an aid to the author and artists statement, so they didn’t really help me prepare for the statements that I wrote.
I honestly didn’t find anything problematic in the curriculum for me. I thought that it was really good there is nothing that I can think of to improve it, everything the we did made sense and was explained clearly enough to really know what we were working on in class and every question I had was answered well and helped me understand
In the article of Daniel Richards, the author mentions about in-class peer review. Daniel shows the readers about two types of students who were facing the in-class peer review. One student acts very nervous and he is scared about being shamed if he read his draft in front of his classmates. Other student acts like very confident about his writing and be ready to show his classmates how good he is in writing. In-class peer review exists some social factor about feeling. It may get hurts, the emotion of your classmates and your teacher, feeling shamed when your classmates rate your draft bad. However, the feedback from your peers will motivate your writing somehow. You will know which your weak side and strong side are, then you use it in order
Rhetorical Analysis Writers always write in different styles in order to attract readers. Every piece of writing has different types of rhetorical methods. For example, “If Technology Is Making Us Stupid, It’s Not Technology’s Fault,” there are different types of techniques used to appeal to writers. In parts of the essay it has logic which is known for using logos. The writer uses very strong emotions which is known as pathos.

In Our America: Life and Death on the Southside talks about how kids that live in the ghetto live differently. Our America i two boys LeAlan and Lloyd, they make a documentary about their life and the Eric Morse incident and how they grow up in elementary and high school.I am going to compare and contrast the book and the movie. Overall, I would give this class on a scale of one to ten an eight out of ten. The progression from the introduction of discourse communities to the power point on a specific discourse community went smoothly. The course was well thought out and I felt that it touched all of the necessary material for a composition one course. The only issue that I had with the class would be the cancellation of the classes. I know this may be out of your control but It made it difficult for me whenever I had a question, however, being able to email and get a quick response helped fix the issue.
The books, A Wrinkle in Time and And Then There Were None, both have many differences in the movie versions. The directors of both movies change the plot to make the movie see fit to what they may have imaged the book to be, while still keeping the story line the same.

Gradually through the whole semester, Peer Review sessions became a great and positive influence on my writing. It is very helpful to have two people with different views on writing read and critique my paper, and give me feedback on what they think I should improve or correct. Also, I was able to see how arguments are sometimes so broad that you do not know what way to take them. I believe the biggest help to me through this unit was being able to see where in my writing process I have strengths like authority and logic and where my weaknesses lie like emotions. I feel showing more emotions could become a problem for me when it comes to creative writing, if a have to do it, because I am so used to the template academic and research writing styles.
