Bad News Bears Movie Analysis

The film that I watched was called The Bad News Bears. When I watched this film years ago, as a young teen I just saw it as a story about two baseball teams. One team, the Yankees, that had a good coach and played exceptionally well together. The other team The Bad News Bears, was just that bad. The players appeared to be similar to that of a group of misfits. These were the kids that will usually were chosen last in their gym class or just about anything else pertaining to sports. The Yankees started off winning most of their games because that’s what they did, win. At times, winning at any cost. The Bad News Bears, however started in the wrong direction. Amanda became his star pitcher. He also picked up an athletic kid named Kelly. Kelly was somewhat of a troublemaker, but he was a tremendous ballplayer. Kelly and Amanda were the stars of the team and their great play helped to motivate the others. The Bears eventually got better and ended up making it to the playoff, then the championship.The Bears of course ended up playing The Yankees. This was your typical David versus Goliath storyline. It 's not always about how things look on the outside, but more about your inner self. More about getting those individuals to believe in themselves.The film helped me to see the value of building up self esteem. I know in math some of the kids that say they don’t like math just had a bad experience with it. Usually I’ll try and give them something simple just to start to let them feel a sense of accomplishment. Then I usually will continue to build from there. This film never gets old. It’s still very relatable today and a young audience would be able to see themselves in any of those characters. This film reminded me that kids are coming to class with many different experiences, emotional phases, as well as insecurities. I must remain cognizant of them along with continuing to be that positive role model they need. I would recommend this film to anyone that has kids they would like to keep encouraged as well the ones they believe are
