So I just wanted to tell you that I understand if you go. It 's okay if you have to leave us. It 's okay if you want to stop fighting...” The film If I Stay, directed by R. J. Cutler, is by far one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It’s a hopeless romantic movie that’s completely unforgettable. It will pull out emotions that you’ve never experienced in any way while watching a movie. What it makes you feel is natural, real, and not forced. They truly brought the character to life. Moretz portrayed the innocent, nerdy, shy high school girl perfectly. She is honestly one of the best parts of the movie. She’s such a great actor! The only thing that threw me off a bit was that Moretz looked a lot younger than Blackley. They could’ve made her look a little older, but that’s about the only flaw I found throughout the film. Blackley did the same great job portraying the role. He definitely had the look down; it was that semi-dark want-to-be-rock-star look. The fact that he could sing made him an even better pick as well. They both displayed the emotion/feeling behind the character in such a realistic way. Blackley actually played his role so well that you began to find yourself wanting your own Adam. You begin to believe that it’s all true and they’re actually the role they’re playing.
