One Litre of Tears bring about the bursts of emotions. This sentimental movie was adapted from a true story of a girl named Aya Kito. As she progressed throughout her teenage years, she developed a disease called the spinocerebellar ataxia, a disease that causes the cells in the cerebellum to deteriorate causing the failure of muscle movement, eye-to-hand coordination, and lack of balance. Eventually, anyone that experiences spinocerebellar ataxia will lose the ability to walk, talk, and eat. There is no known cause for this disease; therefore, there is no cure for it. Throughout the whole movie, they only filmed it during the day time instead of the night time. By filming during the day time, it shows sun shine which portrays strength and happiness. This was to help people stay positive about the disease. The camera angles were mostly establishing shots, long shots, and medium shots. The establishing shots were used in between the change of scenes and the movie usually shows buildings, houses, and schools. Long shots were used to show Aya’s full body. This showed the progress of the disease on her body, and how her body is deterioration day by day. Medium shots were usually taken during the conversations between the actors and actresses in the movie. The main character of One Litre of Tears, Aya Kito, played her role significantly well. Her acting skills make the audience believe that she has the disease. The way her body was shaking. The way her mouth was crooked due to the disease. The way she communicated with others at the peak of the disease. She carefully took her acting to the next level. It is extremely hard to talk like there is something stuck in my throat, or even walk abnormally for a long period of time. There are quite a few cuts throughout the movie. Therefore, One Litre of Tears is a melancholy yet motivational movie that would be able to persuade others to keep trying. The theory would be if the individual would keep going on in life, not only does it gives self-satisfaction, but it also makes those around them proud as well. The movie was fantastic and it could not be done any better. The actors and actresses addressed their emotions well and the audience could feel that the characters in the movie could feel. It is like their emotions are directly transferred into ourselves. Thus, One Litre of Tears could make a significant impact on those who feel like their life is about to end and there is nothing else they could do about it in order to keep them going and try
