THE TRUMAN SHOW The Truman Show is an american film based on science fiction comedy-drama. This film was directed by Peter Weir and written by Andrew Niccol. The leading man of the film of The Truman Show is Jim Carrey. To start with, when I watched the film, I realised that there was something important, for me. This film chronicles the life of a man who is initially unaware that he is living in a constructed reality television show, broadcast around the clock to billions of people around the globe. The show includes Truman’s entire life. Truman becomes suspicious of his perceived reality and embarks on a quest to discover the truth about his life. I approach this film with three topics. By reason of the scenario, his father named Kirk choked and died. This is the reason why Truman is afraid of water/sea. I think it is the biggest representation. It is the only thing that why Truman keep away from his dreams. This fake fear imposed him to keep him stay in the town. Truman is the first child adopted by a firm and is being used for this project, legally. Owing to this project, it gained profits. There are so many advertisements can be obviously seen during the movie of The Truman Show. Everything you can see in this broadcast are on sale like clothes they wear, foods they eat, houses they live in and etc. It is showed that there are product placements in every broadcast, we watch. It is hard to realise the station that he is in because he accepts it until the mankind offers. Against to the people who don’t support the producer, the producer says that the life we offer Truman is not dangerous, it is even liveable and beautiful. Indeed, the normal life we live in is more dangerous and poor. Again and again, I saw that there are always close-ups. This is the reason why the products are always used and in this way the products are marketed in the movie of The Truman
