What feelings did the movie evoke?

I knew there is this problem especially in the south, mostly because I lived most of my childhood in the south. I know that there is a lot of racial tension in the US, but it is worse in the south.

How does this movie relate to your life?

The movie relates to my life because as a daughter of a rape victim and as a mother I can sympathize with the characters in the movie. I sympathize with the little girl because she is just a couple years younger than my mother was when she was raped. I feel for the child and how long and hard her recovery will be. Also I feel for her father because as a parent I can imagine how hard it was for him to walk into his house, to see how hurt his daughter was, to hear what had been done to her, and how bad her injuries were.

What changes would you like to see in society as a result of this movie?

I would like to see everyone be treated the same, for everyone to realize that it doesn’t matter what color your skin is or what god you believe in, that there are things that are wrong to do to others no matter who they are. It didn’t matter that the little girl was black it was wrong for them to rape her. I know that things like this don’t happen as much anymore, but there is still hate crimes happening which I think is
