Motivational paper I always think about what kind of teacher I should become. I am trying to obtain an answer after I read these two books. First time when I read Drive, I think it has no influences on me, and I define this book as an unuseful one. When I finish read this book, I change my idea.
The book Drive presents tips to improve individuals and teams performance with full of enthusiasm for the work in the 21st century. The secret of success is neither the early operating system motivation 1.0 for survive, nor the pursuit of reward. As the author mentioned in the book, people start to dominate their own lives, develop their ability and yearn more meaningful future. From elementary school to high school, I did not have enough autonomy as a child and a student. My parents and teachers though they have responsibilities to teach me and tell me what is my future. It always happened in China. Even when I felt more stress and unfree, I would like to become a bird. When I was a college student, I saw my parents start to change the rule. They tried to encourage me make a decision by myself, because they believed I have abilities to solve problems. They supported me to go abroad and study in here. As a graduate student, professors provide enough freedom to students’ research and study. I can choose where, when and what I want to study, and it improves me to work harder. For the mastery, as I noticed, college begins in kindergarten is wrong. Students will continue to upgrade their knowledge with their progress, because they want to become better people. However, a suitable challenge is sufficient to enable them to grow and increase their enthusiasm for learning. Conversely, ambitious goals will make them lose confidence. I think people must rise with the occasion, not rise to it. The purpose is changing through grow up. When I was a kid, I did not have purpose, I just would like to be a little baby stay with my mom and dad. I can clearly remember, when I was twelve years old, my purpose was to grow up quickly, it means more freedom and stay with friends. And now, I change my purpose. I would like to find a good job and protect my parents. I asked myself, what drives me to change my purpose, and I think the answer is my experience and social environment. Such as people who wear the wristwatch, because they are bring up in a pre-digital culture. Buy now, kids live in a world which is digitized, and they do not need wristwatch
