G in 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G stands for the “Generation” of the mobile network. Today, mobile operators have started offering 4G services a higher number before the ‘G’ means more power to send out and receive more information and therefore the ability to achieve a higher efficiency through the wireless network. During the time of 1G, radio signals were transmitted in ‘Analogue’ form. 2G networks on the other hand, were based on narrow band digital networks. The 3rd generation of mobile networks has become popular and users access the Internet over devices like mobiles and tablets. This means a 3G network actually allows for more data transmission and therefore the network enables voice and video calling, file transmission, internet surfing, online TV, view high definition videos, play games and much more. 4th Generation mobile networks are believed to provide many value added features.
1. Compare the pros and cons of 3G and 4G technologies to determine the best uses of 3G and 4G technologies in today’s applications.
Major comparisons pros and cons between 3G and 4G can be summarized as follows:
Architectural difference: 3G network architecture is the radio terminal base stations (BTS) aggregate the radio Access
The Wireless Markup Language (WML) is used to create pages that can be delivered using WAP. WML is a language that allows the text portions of Web pages to be presented on cellular telephones and personal digital assistants (PDAs) via wireless access. WML is part of the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) that is being proposed by several vendors to standards bodies. The Wireless Application Protocol works on top of standard data link protocols, such as Global System for Mobile communication, code-division multiple access, and Time Division Multiple Access, and provides a complete set of network communication programs comparable to and supportive of the Internet set of
An example of a highly important protocol which will be utilized at application level, is HTTP or hypertext transfer protocol. HTTP is the protocol used within web browsers and the entire internet to send and receive specific web page data. HTTP is a controlling protocol, as it determines how documents should be sent, and what the browser should do in response to commands. When accessing a web page, a HTTP command is sent to the pages web server, so that the server may send that specific page’s data to the user. PCO’s Learning Centre will be using the hypertext transfer protocol on a regular basis. In order for students to access web pages, the HTTP must exist to ensure speedy and accurate navigation, especially in a learning
In this paper, I will compare three different websites that contain information about cell phone plans. I chose T-mobile, Verizon and Sprint for comparisons. I chose T-Mobile because I am currently using T-mobile as my cell phone plan. I selected Verizon and Sprint because they are the leading competitors of T-mobile.

Today, there are approximately 400,000 sex offenders, half of adolescents being cyber bullied, and 20% of teenagers sending inappropriate pictures in the U.S. alone. Like anything else that has transformed people’s lives, technology has attracted a number of naysayers and detractors debating on whether technology is a good thing or a bad thing. Technology allows people keep in touch with friends and family and can make people’s lives easier, but technology has its downfall. Many teenagers have been cyber bullied, attacked by sexual predators, and reputations have been ruined from the effects of “sexting”, a combination of sex and texting. Although there are many benefits to using communication technology, the dangers of cyber bullying, sexual predators, and sexting far outweigh the benefits.
Cell phone manufacturers and service providers are at the core of the cell phone industry. These corporations are integral from their research and development endeavors to interactions with the consumer and the marketing of new products. The companies that control such factors of cellular phones are very numerous, so it is difficult to address all the cell phone manufacturers and service providers. However, we have focused largely on only the most significant cellular companies namely in the U.S. marketplace, although many have global ties. Collectively, companies around the world have the same goals in mind – to create desirable cutting-edge technology and to increase consumer satisfaction with hopes of generating sales, and thus profits.
...arry around a 70lb briefcase. 1G speeds varied between that of a 28k modem (28kbit/s) and 56k modem(56kbit/s). In terms of overall connection quality, 1G compares unfavorably to its digital 2G successors. 1G networks have low capacity, unreliable handoff to towers, poor voice quality, and no security at all since voice calls were unencrypted and played back in radio towers, making these calls susceptible eavesdropping. Callers could also not make calls out of network as the different 1G standards (NMT, AMPS, TACS) were not compatible with one another.
In the 1980s, first generation (1G) cell phones consisted of voice-only analog devices with limited range and features that were sold mainly in North America. In the 1990s, second generation (2G) devices consisted of voice/data digital cell phones with higher data transfer rates, expanded range, and more features. Sales of these devices expanded to Europe and Asia. In the twenty-first century, Nokia and other companies are combining several digital technologies into third generation (3G) communication devices that reach globally and feature the convergence of the cell phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), Internet services, and multimedia applications.
They can receive or make calls and text messages to most parts of the world. With the cell phones, it was easier to write a text message than to hand write a note as it was before. With time, the level of use of cell phones has gone up, with more features being introduced. Cell phone technology is a double-edged innovation that inevitably changes both positively and negatively. Cell phones are among the most innovative gadgets of the 20th century.

As you can see for the most part, people are connecting to wireless from the moment they leave their home till they get to work and then back. Wireless communication definitely provides an advantage over wired networks due to its mobility, allowing users to connect from virtually anywhere.
Since the invention of the cell phones, in 1973, it has quickly become the most popular device used especially today during the twenty-first century. Due to its hands-free-easy-to-use design, the amount of people that own a cell phone is rapidly increasing. The useful text messaging feature has proved to be extremely useful in current times. Along with these helpful features, the cell phone is easily accessible and more portable. The majority of phone companies offer a 3G or 4G data plan, meaning internet access can be found on your phone almost anywhere, at any time.
