As the ocean roars and floods the land When you reach out for somebody’s hand Just shut your eyes and I’m there too As the thunder rumbles and sounds cruel And when you need someone to hold you Just whisper my name and I’m there too There she lay, motionless. However, an atmosphere of hope enveloped around her. She was still fighting, not a single tear yet shed on her pale face. Her sapphire eyes searched the heavens endlessly in hope for escape. There she lay. There she lay. She lay on the muddy ground, covered in tree branches and dead leaves. Her eyes were shut firmly as if she were trying to evade a nightmare. The midnight sky shone luminously onto her pale face. Her complexion of a china doll, white and colorless. She appeared lifeless. If she were to open her eyes any second now, the surroundings around her would notice the change. There would be a dimness in her eyes, they would no longer sparkle. Her skin was as bleak as a ghost and her lifeline would creep in and out of the world silently until death. That was only her fate, if she awoke. But she lay lifeless- dead. Every sound of the forest, every whisper of wind, every silence of the night was no longer heard through her ears. Everything was gone, the darkness embalming her body. Every noise- blocked out of her brain. Every sight was now deprived from her eyes. Every touch was taken forcefully from her, leaving her hands only to fall numbly onto the jagged blades of grass. Courage, knowledge, beauty; all taken from the earth in one tragic fall. One disastrous accident. Catastrophes happen, but this was one horrific phenomenon. The river wept in sorrow, splashing water through the land morosely. Dejectedly, hope blinked its eyes in the light of the sil... ... middle of paper ... ...es. The silver moon rejoiced as it watched the girl emerge, she was alive. Now exposed to the moonlight, I felt a smile flourish on my lips. I closed my eyes and faced he sky as the rain fell down onto my face. As my skin soaked it up joyfully, I was happy to be alive. Trembling I bit my lip hard and screamed weakly into the midnight sky. "I'm alive!" I screamed, holding my arms out. Lowering my arms to my lap, I lowered my head opening my eyes. The rain soaked into my hair, enlightening me. The water trickled down my face refreshing my pores. How good it was to feel the cold water on my face again. To feel it splash in your hands. To feel the air brush against you. To see the moonlight shimmering in the rain. To hear the wind whistling through the trees. Though I was alone, I was alive. I sat on the logs in the rain and laughed. Just like I used to.
