The Middle east Conflict is a conflict between Israel and arab neighboring countries including Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and the state of Palestine. It’s history goes back all the way before WW1 to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire with wars continuing on and off steadily since 1930’s. It is a complicated conflict as there is Political, territorial and religious factored into the conflict.

Some of the documentaries I watched were quite biased towards the Arabs and Palestinians one in particular was the documentary “Occupation 101”. It express how the Palestinians ruled the land and the jewish people immigrated in and took over their land. This is not a very accurate statement. Additionally, the film did not explain that this was all happening around the time the Nazi’s had taken power in Germany. Hitlers rise to power forced many Jews into Palestine, in order to escape concentration camps and death. They were looking for a place where they could start over and be safe. Israel is still responsible for the death of thousands of innocent Arab civilians, something I don’t agree with. However, if other countries have made serious threats that one day they will try to eliminate their country you have to take that seriously and can’t just sit back and let other countries attack your country without retaliating.

The middle east conflict has many aspects to it and is quite a complicated argument. However, steps have been made to reduce violence such as treaties being signed between Israel and Egypt as well as Jordan. Although this is a step in the right direction the Middle east conflict in my opinion is far from being resolved. As long as the Hamas is ruling Palestine I can’t see any peace being made between the two sides.
