In the Beginning

Microsoft is a multinational corporation founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was headquartered in Redmond, Washington in the year of 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Microsoft is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.
The most famous products from Microsoft are the windows line of operating systems: Microsoft office and Internet Explorer browser. Microsoft is considered the world’s largest software maker also one of the most valuable companies. Its core products are the ubiquitous Windows PC operating system and the Office business productivity application suite that are sold in part through PC makers such as Acer, Lenovo, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Toshiba, who pre-install the software on devices to better attend their customers.
Microsoft only took off when it acquired the MS-DOS, from Tim Paterson, to be deployed on an Intel 8086. The company found their livelihoods with software licensing DOS for $ 75,000. The system became the basis of Windows, another operating system based on windows interface created by Xerox.
After that the company started do grow and turned into one of the biggest companies from today’s world. Since the 90’s Microsoft diversified from the operating system market and made many corporate acquisitions. For example in 2011 they bought skype technologies for eight and a half billion dollars. This acquisition (together with Netflix) is considered the largest ever made by the Company.
Microsoft also has a strong online market including enterprise applications, server and storage software and video game consoles (Xbox). Also, they make cell phone software. Microsoft has bought Nokia.

...back in 2011, imagine how is their competition now a days. Microsoft is making money with Windows Server, Microsoft Office and many other software they have, but overall Google is dominating the market with its Web-based computing and mobile devices.
Microsoft has been the best corporation in the world for a long time, but with this new and creative companies emerging fast Microsoft is losing its credentials around the world. Microsoft is still leading the PC market with their Windows Server and Microsoft Office, but if they don’t start to generate more products and start to be more creative they will never achieve the results that this emerging companies are achieving, Google and Apple used creativity and young minds to become the best companies in the world, Microsoft has the potential to be the best, if they try to be a little more creative and take more risks.
