Title: Micro beads, are they Exfoliating or invading?
Specific Purpose: My purpose is to persuade my audience that uses micro beads to stop using these products. I will be doing this by showing them the problem, cause and solution.
Thesis Statement: Micro beads have contributed to a greater increase in the micro plastic pollution of the planet 's oceans and lakes, researchers say. Not only are they hard to clean up because they are about the size of a pinhead, but researchers say they are also posing a threat to aquatic life.

II. BODY: My purpose is to persuade my audience that uses micro beads to stop using these products. I will be doing this by showing the Problem, Cause and Solution. Cleaning our face is an essential part of our day. I hope to show the 46% of users in this class that they need to stop using products that are toxic to our oceans and marine life.
Main Point #1 PROBLEM(s): Although micro beads provide exfoliation and cleansing they provide an exfoliating sensation for users and are designed to wash down drains.
But because they are made of plastic, micro beads do not dissolve and may pose a threat to the environment. In September, a study published in Environmental Science & Technology reported that more than 8 trillion micro beads were entering the country 's aquatic habitats daily. The volume was enough to coat the surface of 300 tennis courts every day. (CNN)
