Michael Jackson – A Star among Stars Music lives and makes us happy. His contribution as a musician brought us some of the most exciting times in the history of music industry. He was a cultural icon, a star whose career spanned for four decades and a man who was always surrounded by controversy. He inspired many artists, changed the way people see pop music and built a dynasty that will last for many years. His name was Michael Jackson. Michael was born on August 29, 1958 in Garry Indiana. He was raised by his parents along with 8 other siblings who lived in a two bedroom house. Despite the poor living conditions Michael and his siblings exhibited strong talent for music at the early age. With his brothers Tito, Jackie, Jermaine and Marlon he founded The Jacksons 5. The group instantaneously achieved popularity mainly due to the charisma and voice that Michael had. Soon after he realized his potential and increasing number of followers, Michael began his solo career along with his attachment to The Jacksons 5. In 1975 the group broke ties with their record label Motown, which resulted in Jermaine’s separation from the group to seek a solo career. Michael’s next solo album “Off The Wall” was met with high praise giving him two Grammys. Soon after he released “Triumph” with the Jacksons in 1980 he started to branch himself out and focus more on his solo career. His next individual album will prove to be one of the greatest records in the history of music. Thriller was released in 1982 and immediately became a hit. To this day it remains the best-selling album of all time with 65 million copies sold around the world and earning 8 Grammy awards. Michael decided that making music and performing on stage will bring positive thoughts and encouragement for better life going forward. He was scheduled to perform a number of concerts in London as the final act of his music career. Sadly, he never experienced a joy of a comeback success as he died after suffering a cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009. His death was later ruled a homicide when Michael’s physician Dr. Conrad Murray was accused of administering a wrongful sedative (Propofol). He was charged with involuntary manslaughter. To this day Michael Jackson has sold over 400 million albums worldwide. To be remembered as one of the greatest is an easy predicament for Michael Jackson. His music and his style made him famous, his controversial decisions and sex abuse allegations buried his image but his legacy will always be in his voice and passion for music.
