Recommended: Muslim view of the black plague

When you were a little kid did you ever hear the song, Ring around the rosie? Well you might think that it was fun singing it. But the reality is that the song was made up in the middle ages because of a disease called the black plague("Middle Ages for Kids - The Plague!."). The black plague was the most devastating diseases in the middle ages, if not in history of mankind. This disease kill over 75 million people, thats 1/3 of europe's population. This disease was actually a bacteria that lived in black rats. The way this disease spread to humans was because if fleas. The fleas bit the infected black rat and then jumped its way to the human victim and bit them("Plague”). The black death spread very quickly, if you were infected and coughed on somebody else that person will know that he/she will be dying or dead by the end of week("Plague”). This why the black death was the worst disease in human history because it spread so quickly and it killed millions of people in a matter of years.

In the middle ages the idea that people had for the black death was because of religious beliefs. They believed that god sent this diseases as punishment for the sins that they committed, but also to test their faith and strength("medical beliefs." ). The scientific belief of what caused this illness was the planet rotation. They believed that the way the planet moved it brought bad air and thats what caused people to get sick and cause diseases. Also they believed that the cure for the black death was to pray to god and to give charity for the poor("medical beliefs." ).

In this time period of the middle ages doctors were very important because they helped people with illnesses, gave them treatment, and also told people on how to stop the black ...
