‘Everybody is in favour of free speech. Hardly a day passes without it being extolled, but some people’s idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage.’ As the famous statesman Winston Churchill once said, individuals have subjective views whilst in communication. Through this I took phone call bookings and phone orders as well as taking drink and food orders from which I had to be able to make sure all orders were completely accurate (especially as it was a gluten free specialist restaurant, so this was crucial) along with being able to explain all aspects of the menu. I learned many important skills such as the importance of communication between staff and customers in achieving the best service possible. I have also worked in the family business doing labouring on a monthly basis often including different tasks each time which keeps my skill set updated especially using new pieces of equipment and having aspects of the stages of building explained to me.
