In this sense, both the print media (newspapers and magazines) and electronic (television and radio) play an important role to guide, inform and shape opinion in its readers, radio listeners and viewers, through the diversity of its programs and content, processed in the variety of genres and formats.
These media have rapidly evolved throughout its history. Precisely because of this evolution and development, but especially for its social function, various media have established their own rules of conduct or code of ethics, not to restrict freedom of speech and expression of ideas of communicators who serve as opinion leaders, but to allow healthy coexistence among those involved in the process of communication, from the sender of the message to the recipient thereof, the "respectable" public, consumer messages.
