1.0 Abstract With today’s development of society, an increasing number of people focus on natural resources and sustainable, restaurants are seeking a new way to establish a sustainable strategy. The case study describes sustainability and analyze its impact within the industry, using McDonald’s as main case study. 1.1 Background information McDonald’s was started from a Bar-B-Q in 1940, and then it more and more people like it and it has more and more kind of food, so it was founded a restaurant in1948. with the development of restaurants, nowadays it already operates in 119 countries (224 countries in the world) and it had more than 36,000 restaurants worldwide. For the instance, sustainable hospitality industry included technological innovations (such as low flush toilets and special shower heads to save water) and energy-saving equipment (such as special systems for heating, ventilation and air conditioning). Some hotels want to transform into a sustainable hotel, because a lot of people think that the concept of sustainable development will will become the development trend of the world.
