.Audiovisual archives is part of our national heritage treasures. It is kept at the National Archives and can be referred by the researchers and publics. It also acts as historical sources and national cultural to the nations. It symbolizes national art achievement creativity and reflection roles as audiovisual media development in Malaysia (Dasar Koleksi Bahan Audiovisual Negara, Arkib Negara Malaysia, 2010). The National Archive of Malaysia through Pusat Pendokumentasian dan Pemeliharaan Audiovisual Negara (PPAV) was formerly established in 2008 with the approval from Malaysia government on 14th July 1999. PPAV currently been supervised under the Section of audiovisual archives which consists of 18 officers and support staffs. This section are divided into four sub-units which consist of Films, Audio, video and multimedia, Photograph and Support Services. The main function of this section is to enhance the ability of tracking, retrieval and documentation audiovisual archives that have been received by any sources such government agencies, private, NGO’s, individual and others either local or international
II. PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Our society nowadays have less exposed with the existence of information sources besides in paper format. Information in audio visual is able to influence organization or individual in decision-making, as sources of information or references. 3. NAM is a main body in enhancing the awareness of audiovisual records and archives to the public in order to strengthen the management of audiovisual archives. NAM should give the exposure to the government agencies and public of their responsibilities in managing audiovisual archives to the national heritage. To improve archival work is a shared responsibility among the entire community. It should be supported by mass media and social networks since it is the concerned of the society in order to raise awareness to people especially with the interest on national heritage.

To collect is to bring things together. However there is an art to collecting, as it is not simply just bringing miscellaneous things together. There is a common theme for the objects and together they serve as a special meaning to their collector. In both texts “The Museum and the Public” by Stephen Weil and Walter Benjamin “Unpacking My Library” by Walter Benjamin, and in the film “Mardi Gras: Made in China”, the purpose of collecting is to tell a story and to showcase the significance of the objects in the collection.

Automated records may present archivists their greatest challenge in identifying, selecting, and preserving records of enduring value. Since the introduction of the computer, archivists have been concerned about its impact on their profession's mission. Based on report by the National Archives of Canada on machine-readable data stated that "if one were to take the traditional archival approach of waiting for whatever recorded information came out of the system, then the archivist in the electronic age will undoubtedly die of information starvation."23 Over the past decade archivists have tried to redefine their role in the modern information age, 24 but many seem to have been merely paying lip service to society's major shift to an "information" era. A library or information unit must have a dedicated plan on having an organized Collection Development Policy, represents the guideposts of all types of library institutions. Collection development is the process of planning, selecting, acquiring and evaluating the library collections’ convenience to print and electronic collection developments. Thus, it is essential to have a written collection development policy, a statement of general collection building principles with desalinating the purpose and content of a collection in terms of relevance and internal audiences (Clayton and Gorman 2007). Broadly, the international and local libraries have sketched written collection development policies which they are aware of its uses. Recently, the written policies consistently renewed with the rise of digital collections. However, the value of the written collection development plan shakes with the complexity of managing electronic resources, funding and time considerations, criticism on how it written and also its inflexibility. This essay will examine the arguments for having the advantages of the written collection development policy (CDP) and the issues evolve which against the latter.

The purpose of this research assignment is to put forward a convincing argument in how digital technology in the last four years have completely revolutionised the whole film industry. This thesis will attempt to focus on the main disciplines of film making and the impact that technology has had on each area. Firstly, this article will look at recent changes in the pre-production area of film making followed by what new equipment and storage facilities are being used during film production. Next is arguable the biggest transformation in the film industry as a result of technology, namely the post production stage. New methods of film distribution are explored followed by the negative impact that technology has had on the film industry with the main focus being on the illegal distribution of copyrighted film footage. New ways in post-theatre film distribution is also explored and the impact that continual break-through technologies are having on the education and training of professionals working within the film industry. Finally an examination of the impact of computer generated graphics on the film industry is concluded by a brief discussion on what the future may hold for the film industry.
