NV Big Food
· Verbetering van de financiële positie door o.a. de verkoop van winkels;
· Verbetering van focus door het terugbrengen van het aantal winkelformules tot alleen de formule G&G;

Johnny Rocket’s invades Belgium! Restaurants continue to play a significant role in the Belgian franchise market, and their presence is increasing rapidly, with the fast food franchising market growing at an annual rate of approximately 12%. American fast-food franchising concepts, such as standardized restaurant chains that offer a limited but popular range of dishes served in packaging for on-the-spot consumption has been widely adopted. We plan to bring Johnny Rocket’s to Belgium with a twist of catering to business people, by catering lunches.
The article highlights and includes the documentary Food, Inc. which exposes the inability of the profit system to provide safe and healthy food for the vast majority of the population. Eric Schlosser investigating journalist quotes, “The way we eat has changed more in the last 50 years than in the previous 10,000…now our food is coming from enormous assembly lines where animals and the workers are being abused, and the food has become much more dangerous in ways that are deliberately hidden from us”. Schlosser also quotes, “Birds are now raised and slaughtered in half the time they were 50 years ago, but now they’re twice as big”. He believes they not only changed the chicken, but they changed the farmer implying that capitalism has taken the place for the need of small scale farming. In addition, Michael Pollan also a journalist believes that the vast array of choices which appears in everyday supermarkets is nothing but an “illusion of diversity”. The advancement of technology and how consumers react to products has been further developed and continues to be in this generation. Food scientists are now genetically modifying and engineering products to satisfy and manipulate consumers to desire more of these unhealthy product choices. The biggest advance in recent years has
In the article “The End of Food,” Lizzie Widdicombe describes an advancement of our food culture through a new product developed by three young men living in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district. After failing to produce new inexpensive cellphone towers on a hundred seventy thousand dollar investment, the three men went on to try and develop software with their remaining funding. While trying to maximize their funding’s longevity, they realized that their biggest budget impediment was food. In fact, it reached the point where their diet comprised of mostly fast food, and eventually they despised the fact that they had to spend so much time and money on eating. Due to this hardship, Rob Rhinehart, one of the entrepreneurs, came up with the
In Robert Kenner’s documentary film, Food Inc., the purpose is to inform Americans the reality of the food industry. The film illustrates the malevolent side of the food industry rather than an advertised image. Compelling images are used to show the horrors of the food industry such as the visuals of innocent animals being slaughtered and mistreated by the second. The claims that the film asserts have further expanded the ominous image of the food industry. Food inc. portrays a warning for Americans about what they are really eating, one can take a stand for better and safer foods.
His intention at this lecture is to make people aware about food transformations. For example, how corporations’ impact people’s behaviors related to food. It is as if corporations’ control what people eat because it has become so much easier for consumers to consumer processed food. He does not only talk about this but also other topics such as cooking and it’s
The pilot study I conducted at Highpoint Shopping Centre allowed me to observe how food choices were made amongst different people. There are many factors that influence food choices. Therefore I conducted this observation to develop into food choices. Some factors involved gender differences, this effected the food choice and the process of eating, how the effect of age plays part in choosing food, along with which cultures foods were eaten most; Chinese, Turkish, or Italian. I also observed whether culture had an effect on food choices? What these people were wearing? How long it took for them to decide on what they were going to eat? Does the time of the day and the days of the week have an effect on the selection and amount of food eaten? And how the food is eaten? Children and how their food selection is analysed?
The book The No-Nonsense Guide to World Food, by Wayne Roberts introduces us to the concept of “food system”, which has been neglected by many people in today’s fast-changing and fast-developing global food scene. Roberts points out that rather than food system, more people tend to recognize food as a problem or an opportunity. And he believes that instead of considering food as a “problem”, we should think first and foremost about food as an “opportunity”.
Throughout this chapter Schlosser takes his reader through the journey of the french fry from spud to stomach. Schlosser uses his talents to educate the world about the ins and outs of the processed food and flavor industry, informing the fast food nation, “Why the fries Taste Good.”
Back to the early 20th century, when people still have the leisure lifestyle to take their meal in a more proper way either in restaurant or have a home-cooked meal at home which have to spend some time on it. The process of preparing a meal is tedious and prolonged which need to allocate some time on it before being able to be served for meal. Through the era of advancement, the time consuming old system of serving a meal had been made much smooth and transparent than before. In her book on fast food, Issues in Society, Fast Food, Healy (2012,p.2) defines fast food as foods are usually low in nutrients and high in salt, sugar or fat and they are ‘extras’ to be enjoyed occasionally. In the 1930s, White City as the first burger chain to open in the town and following by the McDonalds in the 1940s. In the mid twentieth century, drive through restaurant had been introduced to the world, and this resulted in improvement on speed of service and its’ efficiency as drive through made a more convenience situation for customers to dine as well as the predictability of the taste of fast food (Calypso n.d.). While fast food industry bring some benefits on the society by their accessibility and economy, it also carry drawbacks on the society which focused on the health. Therefore, the key development in fast food industry is the fusion of improving quality and increasing the speed and efficiency in fast food industry.

The Netherlands’s food has an amazing taste! Seward & Lal, (1939) stated that the Netherlands have a large supply of potatoes, onions and carrots, spinach and peas, squash, white beans, and greens (some for salad). They also stated that the Netherlands have plenty of fish and seafood, including trout and shrimp. The national drink for the Dutch is called jenever, a gin. Any people who want light drinks could have beer, wine, or fruit liquids.
My long term career goal is to found my own financial company that specializes in applying advanced analytics tools to solve complex financial problems. Having worked as a financial analytics analyst for more than 6 months at Enova Financial, a Chicago-based consumer online financing company, my passion towards financial analytics is reinforced. Ranging from basic data query and reporting to predictive modeling and optimization, data analytics has assumed a more important role in today’s financial services industry. Mastering data analytics could help financial institutions acquire the relevant information in the shortest amount of time and make the informed decisions thereafter. Since personal loan industry is only the niche of financial services, I would like to broaden my horizon of the financial knowledge by gaining a deeper understanding of its principle and its application in order to achieve my loan term goal. Entering a full-time master in finance program, as such, becomes the best option for me.
