Recommended: the impact of Martin Luther king Jr

From long ago, I can recollect that Martin Luther King Jr. is an icon to me, as well as a mentor and a model. I also feel that he is an inspiration and a true leader because of the efforts he made to help African Americans obtain their civil rights in the United States. With Dr. King’s influence on me, at the age of 12 and 13, I had performed Martin Luther King speeches, winning 1st place two years in a row at my middle school. Accomplishments that Martin Luther King Jr. has achieved brought a new perspective to the minds of other individuals and set himself apart from many other activist leaders, and establishing himself as one of the greatest and most influential speakers in U.S. history. Dr. King spoke on a lot during his time, making modifications towards many committees, organizations, and governmental groups to end racial segregation and racial discrimination, becoming one of the most well known human rights icons. Dr. King’s efforts have led to a tremendous change in the world’s viewpoints towards each other, ending racial segregation and discrimination. The leadership attitude that Martin Luther King Jr. has influenced me to be more enthusiastic and motivated to become a better person. His mental abilities, knowledge, and cognitive skills have made me more persistent to achieve my goal in life and to be more aggressive and persistent to accomplish anything I want for my future. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15th, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. Coming from a large family, he was the middle child and was very intelligent. He had an older sister and a younger brother. Dr. King started young singing with his church choir on the Atlanta premiere of the movie “Gone with the Wind”. On November 2nd, 1983, President Ronald Raegan signed a bill creating a holiday to honor King and his work. Regarding King’s personal life, it was said that Dr. King had a numerous amount of affairs. Ralph Abernathy, a close friend and associate of King, stated in his autobiography that: “King had a weakness for women. “ Could this also be a psychological problem? Who knows? King explained his affairs as: “a form of anxiety reduction”. There’s a lot of psychological thought to this personal life King had. Dr. King had a purpose to enable and secure progress on civil rights and equality in the United States which has brought out a high potential with many Americans to reach this goal. Dr King is seen as a human rights icon and his legacy will live forever.
