The Manfred Von Richthofen's Life and Accomplishments

The Great War began in 1914, when the Archduke of Austria was assassinated. During the 4 years that the war progressed over 37 million people were killed. During the First World War, there were many new technological advances, these advances increased both the casualty rate, and the importance for a national figure that could raise troop and civilian moral. Among these advances was the creation of the powered aircraft. The invention of aircraft could very possibly be the most important invention of the early 20th century. With the invention of trench warfare, much of the war was spent in trenches bunkered in so that the enemy could not reach you. Aircraft made many tasks much easier on the front line, including but not limited to, communication, scouting, and fighting. The aircraft made transportation so much faster that it actually influenced many decisions during the war. If one side managed to take out the other sides air force it would be very easy for that side to tear into the infantry and artillery because except from the air, aircraft were almost untouchable. With aircraft already being the most important asset of the First World War it makes pilots much more valuable. Manfred von Richthofen was the most successful aerial combatant of the First World War and also was the most important figure who fought in the war. Throughout the First World War, Manfred von Richthofen (The Red Baron), was the most important militant who engaged in combat, on any front, due to his important role as a famous propaganda figure and his numerous kills before his untimely death in 1918.
