Male, Female, or Both, and the Reasons Why

Are you a man trapped inside a woman’s body? Are you a woman trapped inside a man’s body? Go ahead and laugh at my questions, when really you are the one that should be laughed at. Many people struggle with gender identity every single day of their lives. Gender identity is a complex concept that has been studied for years by scientists, and psychologists who are trying to decipher what causes a person to identify themselves as having a masculine or a feminine identity. Some people who are born into a sex can feel that they should not have been born into this sex. This does not mean that these people are gay or lesbian, it simply means that they believe they are more similar to the other sex causing that person to act more masculine or feminine. The complexity of distinguishing between gender and sexual identity is so difficult, and easily confused, you really must know what you are talking about before you make judgements on people. That’s what I am here to do, I am going to explain what gender identity is to give you a better understanding for your own personal knowledge and maybe even self awareness.

Gender identity cannot be perceived as the same by everyone. Its source is different in the eyes of all of us. It can be found from lots of things, such as our race, class, geographical, physical, and sexual identities, and many more things as well. It is up to the person who is trying to find who they are that truly decides where their gender came from (Gender Identity, 1). There are views from people who believe it comes from DNA and then there’s another side who believe it comes from society. ...sn’t something that is just handed out to people, it is something that is acquired and worn by a person throughout their life. A person’s sense of gender can come from birth, or from the way they are raised and experience society. You mustn't be ashamed of who you are, your identity is who you want to be, and don’t ever let anybody tell you not to be someone because that is their thoughts that probably regard gender identity issues with themselves. Be true to yourself.
