Leadership and humility

A leader, Leader is someone who guides others to achieve a common goal. A great leader will inspires confidence in other people and move them to action. Effective leader will always motivate, encourage and empower others and achieve challenging goals, will stay ahead of their competitors, willing to take calculated risks and have the ability to recover from failures. They also have strong communication skills and there are more self confident.

“It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.”

A most popular saying is that “Great leaders are born, not made”. To some extent it is true that people are born with leadership qualities. However leaning how to be a more effective leader is always possible. Road to become an effective leader is not easy, you need to develop certain qualities to become an effective leader. Researches show that humility is one of the greatest qualities that an effective leader can have.

Some individuals think that humility is a weakness. But in the modern day organization structure it proven to be incorrect. Humility doesn’t mean that you’re weak or unsure of yourself. It means that you have the self-confidence and self awareness to recognize the value of others without feeling threatened, that you are willing to admit you could be wrong, that you recognize you may not have all the answers. And it means that you are willing to give credit that others deserved.
