In the play Macbeth, there are many different themes that are seen throughout the play. Tragic Hero is one of the most important themes because, it covers the topics of noble birth, tragic flaw, and the realization that tragic flaw caused tragic fall. These three topics demonstrate that, Macbeth is in a high position from his noble background, he has flaws in his personality, and he has had a huge downfall because of his tragic flaw which led to the event of having his life taken away from him because of it. In William Shakespeare's play, noble birth is seen when Macbeth is born into the Thane of Glamis and is praised by King Duncan and others for his honour and worthiness. Macbeth was aware that his evil deeds would make people want revenge against him, but he did not fear the people because he was counting on the prophecies. The witches told Macbeth to be bold and fearless, and that no man born of women could defeat him, as shown in the quote where the witch says “ The power of man, for none of woman born/Shall harm Macbeth.”(IV, i, 82-83). This relates to the topic that Macbeth has had a huge downfall from his flaws. It shows that no man born by women can harm him as he thinks he is superior, but all that just leads him to his fall. The witches also said that he will never be defeated until the trees of Birnam Wood attacked Dunsinane. This is proven in the quote, “Macbeth shall never vanquished be until/Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill//Shall come against him.”(IV, i, 96-98). This also relates to the topic because it shows that he believed the prophecies so much that he did not protect himself well enough and that caused his fall. Another person who has a huge downfall in their flaws is Lady Macbeth. An example would be when she said “...what’s done cannot be undone….” (V, i, 59-60). In this quote, Lady Macbeth discusses how Macbeth killed King Duncan and how she cannot undo what happened. She also felt guilty for convincing Macbeth to kill him. The first was when he was shown as a noble hero, the second is how Macbeth has many flaws in his huge downfall because of his ambition, and finally how Macbeth had huge downfall because of his flaws. All of this shows him as a dynamic character and how his personality was as a character in the beginning and then towards the end. Additionally, it showed how he changed as a character. This is an important theme because it shows the audience that if you feel something is wrong, but your loved ones are telling you it is right, you don't have to do it if you feel that it is wrong. This case is similar to Macbeths when Lady Macbeth told him to kill Duncan even when he didn't want to and felt that it was a bad idea, but his loved one told him to so he thought it was
