Whoever said that true love is a smooth road traveled, has never experienced true love in their life! When you truly love someone, you learn to accept all of their ways of being and every obstacle they experience in life, you make a choice to live and experience with them as well. There was a time in my life where my husband had a huge bridge to cross. I had to make a decision for myself as to how much I loved this man, and if this situation was something I wanted to deal with and live with.
Donald and I met at a very young age, as teenagers in 1994. Our feelings and emotions drew us close together. It was like the best high I can get without breaking any laws. At the time, I could not say it was love while entrenched in it; it was more like a strong, instinctive attraction. Love can make you feel crazy at times. It was very physical, but also calm, comforting, and mental. We did not want to be apart and could not live without each other. Being apart made us sick!! We loved each other very much.
Throughout the years, Donald and I as individuals grew together, apart, and back together again. During our break ups, there were other relationships. These other relationships, I think helped make our relationship stronger. They taught us how to appreciate, respect, trust, and honor each other. Our relationship had trying times, but our love for each other never died. We withstood many obstacles in the past and always overcame them, but I believe this was by far, the most difficult situation I had to overcome. This would be the one to determine our love for each other and relationship forever. A path that can only be described as true love is put to the test.
In February 2004, Donald and I decided to give our relationship one more go...

... and I wonder how he is doing. I know he’s grown so much by now and hope that he is ok. I also wonder if he will remember us…..
Ten years later, Donald and I are still together and in love. Friends and family are amazed at how that whole situation worked out for us and that we are still together after all of the obstacles our relationship has faced. We finish each other’s sentences, and call each other in thought. Just thinking of him, my phone would ring and it would be him. We talk about everything, even the little things that are not important. We laugh together and if I am having a bad day, he knows exactly what to do to bring my spirits up, and put a smile on my face. We do not go to bed mad at each other either. He understands me and gets me. He loves me for me, with all of my flaws, and I love him just as much. I honestly feel that I have found my soul mate.
“In any relationship, there will be frightening spells in which your feelings of love dry up. And when that happens you must remember that the essence of marriage is that it is a covenant, a commitment, a promise of future love. So what do you do? You do the acts of love, despite your lack of feeling. You may not feel tender, sympathetic, and eager to please, but in your actions you must BE tender, understanding, forgiving and helpful. And, if you do that, as time goes on you will not only get through the dry spells, but they will become less frequent and deep, and you will become more constant in your feelings. This is what can happen if you decide to love.”
And that he got a good nights sleep last night, and I’m pleased to report he slept like a baby. He woke up every half hour like clockwork, crying for his mom.
Thus they explained that true love was difficult to bear and comprehend, but in tru...
Finding a true love is something most people search for their entire lives. Best said by Nicholas Sparks, “How far should a person go in the name of true love?” This reoccurring theme can be seen throughout William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a comedy about the triumphs of young foolish lovers and the forces that act against them. Two main characters, Hermia and Lysander, face many obstacles in their journey of love. Overall, Shakespeare uses the quote; “Could ever hear by tale or history, the course of true love never did run smooth” (I, i, 136-137), to foreshadow the entities Hermia and Lysander have to fight in order to be together.
True love or love in general is essential for human life. Since birth, babies are loved and nurtured by their mothers and fathers; completely vulnerable to the world, yet protected by the very people who created them. A parent's bond and love with their child is nothing that can be described unless you have a child of your own. I will only know the true magnitude of this kind of compassion and devotion to someone when I have a child of my own. Romance has always been apart of human culture; From Ancient Roman plays to Shakespeare to today with Nicholas Sparks’ the Notebook and other popular books he has wrote; But today with so much media with books and music and movies many people find themselves unsure of what true love actually is, and what it means to devote yourself to someone for a long term relationship instead of “dating” someone for 3 weeks and breaking up because the other person spilt chilli all over your favorite christmas sweater.
True love is a reason for everything, even deleting the laws of life. People's mistakes and weaknesses are part of life; and, without contradic...
For 10 years, we laughed and talked about how many kids we wanted, whether we wanted to live in the suburbs or the country, how many pets–not that it matters anymore. We met in my junior year of UW, I was a hopeful art student and she was a hospitality major. I was at my first frat party and became a little too inebriated to drive home and she was nice enough to help me out. After that she was there for everything; the long hauls of studying, decorating our apartment, buying our first car.
It’s been him the whole time. Those years at summer camp, the coffee dates he came on, every birthday present he bought, all of the times he gave a shoulder to cry on, and the time he rescued me. It’s always been him.
Few people ever fall in love, and even fewer people remember when they did. I am not one of these people. The first time I fell in love was when I was 5 years old and my dad gave me my first ever baseball. I can still remember running my fingers against the seams and gripping the ball in a multitude of ways, imagining I was Nolan Ryan trying to select which pitch I would throw.
“You are not tied to one another by an invisible bond that cannot be broken,” said Eithne. “And I would like to add that I have rarely seen such a deep and abiding love, and I bless you with a thousand prayers for health, happiness, and good fortune. Your love will last in this life and beyond, I am sure of
Love is a fragile dance. I am going to tell you a very crucial key factor in my life. I was one of those children that was always singled out being my parents were divorced. When I was younger, having divorced parents was rare, however now and days it's rare to see parents still together. I’m not going to lie it definitely has been a struggle, but thankfully I always have a friend or family member I can talk to.
Today in the twenty-first century there are some different ideas regarding the idea of love. Television and movies have set some unrealistic ideas of love. In the movies two individuals fall in love, and they live their life perfectly. In reality, love is difficult, and challenging at times, but, can really be worth it if both individuals truly love each other. I hope to fall in love, and be the cute couple, that are so in love with each other, that do everything they can for each other and their family. I
While true love is treasured when achieved, its rarity can be attributed to the multitude of obstacles lovers must face. Couples often have trouble expressing their love for one another or may face challenges within the marriages. Whether it be disagreements, affection of surroundings, friendships lost, or jealousy, the quest for true love has its consequences. This concept is expressed several times in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, in the cases of many of the lovers. However, it can be argued that although complications ensue, true love is worth a life of trouble.
on for decades. Some of us have felt love, and some of us have been in love. But
Full of its own turnings, comings and goings, high and low and everything in between. It doesnt matter. Why? Because we always look at the bright side. Love blinds us. It makes us believe that love can be a fairytale. But one day, one final and fateful day. Pain arrives and love shows what it truly is. Because love does not conquer all things, not all the time. Thats the reality. There will always be loss, endings will always be days of bittersweet tears and pain that cannot be assuage. The illusion, the fairy tale, the paradise, and the wonder is gone, leaving only coldness and misery in its wake. Love hurts
