Love and hate is basically the feelings that people experience towards each other throughout their life. Love and hate are not opposites because they substitute each other depending on the emotions that people develop. Love and hate is a cycle of emotions that humans experience, they either develop feelings of love from hate or hateful feelings from love. Even though she hated her father she still needs his love even if it’s in the form of hate as she said, “Every woman adores a Fascist (954),” the fascist that she is describing is her husband referring to him as her dad because she wanted to feel her dads love though her husband’s hate. Plath keeps going bac...

...hat develop into hate. Every person has experienced the expression of, “I hate you, but I love you” it’s often used with lovers and parent-child relationships. The expression just means that the hatred you feel is just the base of your love to a person. Love and hate will always be in the same cycle to substitute each other, whether love or hate comes first it will lead to the other.
