Los Angeles and New York are both great places to live in and to visit on a vacation.
This two cities have never really seen each other eye to eye by the people who live there. The cities being on opposite sides of the United States doesn’t help the situation, its west coast and east coast rivalry. These cities have a rivalry that has gone on for so long it astonished me deeply. The history behind both cities are very similar, but very different all at the same time. First thing that L.A. and N.Y. have in common is there both very much very much have attractions that attract many tourists. For example L.A. has Disney Land and N.Y. has cony island both very fun attractions. Both cities have very talented and very well liked baseball

Over the years things have gotten better for Los Angeles and has risen up to be a very populated city. A city over to 3 million people in Los Angeles has done pretty well for itself, and I believe it will continue to thrive for the years to come. New York is a while other story, New York has an even bigger history of ups and downs.
This city is filled with so much art, music, and fashion; hence the city is called the fashion capital of the world. New York also being a semi small island is a combination of other islands with
Manhattan being the biggest one. New York is known as the Big Apple for being one of the biggest cities in the world. Before New York became the city it is today, it was filled with gangs and other bad people that tore the city apart with a lot of gang fighting. The Dutch first got to
New York in 1624 and called it New Amsterdam and Manhattan Island. Later the English took over called it New York and became one of 13 original colonies. Even after all the fighting and violence that New York went through, like 9/11 so far the worst day in American history, New
York stands tall now and bigger and brighter than
At first the Spanish Harlem or also called “El Barrio”. An unsafe neighborhood with social issues that remains up to day as one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in New York where the story for the movie begin (Nelson). Later, we can observe the famous subway of the city of New York, that is one of the most used mass transportation in the world operating in a 24/7 basis with 34 lines and 469 stations around the five boroughs(Itzkowitz). And lastly, the Grand Central Station is captured in the film, which is one of the busiest train stations in the world serving every day around 200,000 commuters (NYC Tourist)
and this shows that New York is not alone and that it has a lot of
New Yorkers are stereotypically known as a crass and rude group, devoid of compassion. Having visited other places in the world I can frankly attest that I have never experienced apathy so widely spread throughout a populace as I have felt living in New York. The "New York attitude" isn't unique to lower class individuals who are down on their luck; it transcends class, gender, and race. It's evident in the Wall Street white collar, the ghetto rogue, the chubby mothers of three-and me. It's a compelling force. I've been trained, conditioned like one of Dr. Pavlov's dogs, to behave this way; to bark on demand, to push as I'm being shoved, to hate when hated.

Today, the city of Los Angeles remains a magnet to immigrants, and Latinos now make up more than 40% of its population. The LAPD is now bigger, with nearly 10,000 officers, and claims to be more sensitive than it was before the riots. The riots opened up the eyes of people of all races and careers in Los Angeles, and especially opened the eyes on Capitol Hill. Changes have been made, and LA is a better place because of it.

Los Angeles was the first product off the assembly line of American urban planning. Turned on in the late 19th century, the city-making machine was fueled by an immense immigration of people who sought to create a new type of city out of the previously quaint pueblo. They also strove to craft the first major city developed primarily by Americans and outside of European archetypes. As a result, Los Angles is not only incredibly diverse, but also nearly impossible to define. Since it is a product of the American machine, understanding the community of Los Angeles becomes vital to understanding the United States. But to fully comprehend the present Los Angeles, one must look at the process that created it. Specifically, Los Angeles was created by upper class Anglo citizens of the 20th century, who strove to materialize their imagined reality of a rural city by establishing a process where affluent citizens fled to the suburbs and left the lower class residents their more urban rundown leftovers. This created world then became the setting for resistance from various groups, such as minorities and youth, who began to undermine the Anglo infrastructure through social interaction.

New York City is called the Big Apple, however there are no correct ideas of how this universal moniker was established. Some says it is because of John J. Fitz Gerald and his column; other says it is named because during the Great Depression, people were force to sell Apples in a suit. I’ve stayed in New York longer than in my birthplace Guangzhou; New York City is my second hometowns. I’ve been in New York for fifteen years. I could go on and on bragging about the breathtaking sceneries of NYC such as the skyscrapers. However that will not show you the NYC I want to talk about. The NYC I want to show you is not the glamorous metropolis, instead it is the old New York City filled with histories and cultures.
