According to the research paper “Seven Paths of the Hero in Lord of the Rings: The Path of Love”, Robin Robertson express that Sam is one of the most understanding person and he chooses to travel the most sentimental path. The approach of his simple devotion and love for Frodo makes him the person who never hesitates to complete his task in the novel. Throughout the novel, Sam has a strong bond with Frodo; however, during the time of the battle of Shelob, Frodo was in a huge trouble that is when Frodo was in need of Sam’s friendship and support the most, but he was not there to support him during that time. Later, when Sam came to rescue Frodo from Shelob’s trap, Frodo was enfolded in a cocoon of Shelob’s net where she was dragging his body to serve him as a future meal. When Sam saw Shelob, he jumps on Shelob and starts fighting with her using his sword; however, Shelob was hard to kill by the sword instead of using his own sword where Sam decided to use the sting which …show more content…

When Martin wrote his novel in the 90s, it was calm in the country except there was only one main world authority that was being used. In A Game of Thrones, from the introduction of the novel, the audience is able to feel or start getting the notion that there is going to be darkness arriving later in the few chapters. In the novel, the first few chapters started calm and peaceful, especially the first chapter where the Stark family was talking and relaxed where they all were together at one place, happy with no tension of the war. However, later in the novel, the indication of the darkness and tension start arriving little by little which gave the reader a hint that Stark and Stark family will be in a great problem where they going to face a big obstacle where they have to suffer through a lot of agony and
