Most of the foods are already available because when I decided to record my food during a 3 days period, I didn’t change something and I like to be as same as usual. I mean I wanted to see how much calories in per day if I eat the same food that I eat it every day. However, I usually buy everything like food, vegetarian, and juice that would be enough for a month because I am not that person love to eat too much. For example, for me is important I wanted to track my calories per day, but my condition was I don’t want to pretend to eat diet when I start to record Dietary 3 days. Keeping track of what I ate for three days forced me to be held accountable. Few people realize just what they eat on a daily basis. Seeing the food log and the analysis helped me have a better understanding of what I put into my body and what my body needs on a daily basis as far as energy and nutrients. The analysis gave a summary for calories, food groups, and nutrients, both macro and micronutrients.
I would plan my meals out for the day and place them in the system and see what my outcome would be before I cook or prepare them from me and my son. I also tied to bake a lot of my foods and not fry them. I eliminated a lot of salts and sodium from my diet as will. The food tracker counts everything! The purpose of recording this food log was to see what in my diet healthy or unhealthy. The purpose of this food log was also to view our eating habits because the basic average man eats many saturated fats, sugars, and red meat and this usually explains why some of them are usually obese and have diabetes. Diabetes is a problem when you eat too many foods with sugar or you eat too many sweets. In our task we were supposed to compare our eating habits to the new food pyramid. The new food pyramid describes what is healthy and the average amount of servings that should be taken daily.
While I was tracking my eating for these three days, I began to learn about the benefits of the food that I am eating and the nourishment that they provide for my body. I had never realized how big of a role that the food that I eat plays in my everyday life. Eating has never been something that I really think about it is just something that I do. After I looking at the data of what I eat on Choose My Plate, I realized that my eating habits are far from balanced and that I needed to work on bringing my eating habits to a better balance. While there are a lot of things that I have been doing right, there are also many things that I can work on.
People is always asking: “Why is important to have a balanced diet? Why is necessary to have a balanced diet on a daily basis? And why do professionals tend to recommend a balanced diet?” The human being has essential needs to its existence: breathing, feeding, and keeping the body in constant movement. The majority of the people are aware of this, but they do not have a balance among these things and even more important they do not eat the adequate food to keep their body healthy. Food is one of the most important factors because it gives the energy the body needs daily. In other words, few words food is the fuel that provides glucose, which is carried to each cell of the body through the bloodstream. This process is extremely important and this is influenced by the type of food that each person consumes. A balanced diet is important for human beings, and makes reference to a good nutrition with regard to the food they eat; which contains macro nutrients that are carbohydrates, fats, and proteins; these provide energy and basic materials that the body uses to grow and stay healthy.
A person should eat healthy and nutritiously balanced diet to maintain a good health. He should has such a diet in which he can get all the important nutrients and vitamins that are essential for overall growth and development. He should also take care of an amount of calories and servings that he takes on daily basis to ensure a good health. I recorded my food intake for two consecutive days and compared it with Canada’s Food Guide in order to know where I need to make improvements for a good health.
While completing this assignment I learned that my eating habits need improvement as I am not meeting the daily recommended daily servings for the 5 food groups. In addition, I am eating foods that I want and crave instead of foods that are healthy, nutritious, and hold nutritional value. For example, over the span of 2 days I realized that I have consumed quite a bit of fried food and not enough vegetables and fruits.

As a full-time college student/ worker, I typically find myself always “on-the-go”, and that is probably the best way to describe my dietary eating habits: “on-the-go”. A lot of my diet is mainly from fast food or restaurants (especially because I work in one) which is evident from this analysis. I would describe myself as a sedentary person, I exercise at a 2 day maximum per week, but my BMI is average. I often feel very tired/unfocused and I am certain that my diet is responsible for my exhaustion. Lastly, I would like to include that week I chose to imput is a fair representation of my diet, but I find myself actually eating less because I am in such a hurry.
