For years, I struggled dealing with all of the responsibilities that were bestowed upon my shoulders between school, homework, my personal life, and the other activities that I participated in. I didn 't learn to live a healthy lifestyle until reality struck when a cardiologist explained to me that my heart had a murmur. I was told that is was because of unhealthy lifestyle that I had adopted . I was overweight, I didn 't exercise, I didn 't eat right, and I didn 't want to be that person anymore. I began noticing changes immediately after I began living a more healthy lifestyle by incorporating a healthy diet, by keeping a loose scheduled, and by devoting at least one hour of exercise into each day of mine. There are plenty of ways to keep yourself in good health as a student regardless of what comes your way. Preparation is the key to success, as well as the key to living a healthier and more productive lifestyle. There are certain acts that can promote a healthier lifestyle, like eating a more wholesome diet. By substituting out all of the bad foods that you may eat throughout your day, simple changes can make your body thank you for many years. Instead of sweet, sugary foods you could exchange them for fruits and berries. Instead of eating either frozen food, or fast food, you could sacrifice thirty minutes a day to prepare a decedent, home cooked meal for the whole family to enjoy with fresh vegetables, lean meats, complex carbs, and whatever spices you may decide to use. When you eat well, you perform well, but you can 't perform at peak personal ability if you are a mess. By staying organized throughout each day, productivity will shoot up, and stress will fall to a minimal amount. By keeping daily tasks ahead inside of a planner, and further tasks recorded in a calendar, then the factor of procrastination and worry can be obliterated altogether keeping a student in a better state of mind to get through each day with an idea of whats ahead. Health visitors are registered nurses who undergo extra training to work in the community with families and children under five. The main principles of health visiting are to ensure that children have a healthy and positive start to life by recognising health needs, encouraging health enhancing activities and influencing health policies (Craig and Lindsay, 2000). Health visitors provide the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) which allows all families access to services ranging from immunisations through to safeguarding. Although health visitors play a key part in the healthcare of families and children they also work closely with other health professionals in order to help families achieve optimum health. This essay will describe the health visiting role in more depth as well as discuss why immunisations are a key role in the health promotion undertaken by a health visitor.
The general idea of being healthy has changed in a variety of ways over the many centuries that humans have been studying anatomy. Being healthy is much more than just looking good, and the U.S. Military is a great example of this. Most military personnel do not have large muscles but they are still extremely strong and even outperform professional bodybuilders. This is because the size and strength of muscles are much more independent of one another than most would initially believe (Mettler) (Phillips).

During my first semester I have been faced with many challenges. It has been an uphill battle with time management, nutrition, optimism, and stress. Fortunately for myself I happened to be very skilled in time management although it was tough, I was able to prioritize myself enough to focus on the most important thing, my education. On another note I have not easily managed my meals. I find myself going to bed hungry on certain days do to the large workload. However, as I have grown into this experience I have begun finding other ways to balance my studies and more wisely manage my
Parents always want what is best for their children. They strive to provide for them, teach them, and to watch them grow into healthy, loving individuals. In order to slow and eventually put a stop to this trend parents need to not only be aware and informed, but also need to take action and institute healthy eating habits from the very beginning.
Health is described as physical and mental well-being and freedom from disease, pain or defect. However, such descriptions only superficially define the actual meaning of health. There may be many occasions when individuals are not necessarily ill or in pain but may be overweight, stressed or emotionally unstable. Health is a quality of life involving dynamic interaction and interdependence among the individual’s physical state, their mental and emotional reactions, and the social context in which the individual exists. There are many factors that influence your health, but three major components contribute to general well-being: Self-awareness, a balanced diet and, regular physical activity.
People spend millions of dollars every year on drugs that they are convinced that will help you lose weight, grow hair, reduce stress, anxiety, and plenty of other things. I wish I could have all of the money they have wasted on those products. What if they knew of something that would help them lose weight, improve cardiovascular health, help control stress, help improve muscle, bone, and joint health, benefit diabetic problems, and could do many other things to benefit their health? Exercise is something that is proven to help all of these things, but not a lot of people exercise on a regular basis. This is something that you do not have to pay for, so what is stopping everyone from exercising? There are many positive effects of exercising and very little negative effects. I wonder how much a pill that helped all of those things would set you back?

It might be easier to live a healthy life for many people, but for others it can be very challenging. I have tried to be healthy so many times, but I always fell off the wagon. For many days I would “feel” healthy, but in reality I was not the healthiest person mentally or physically. I knew that I had to change my behavior, and become healthier (or at least almost healthy) if I wanted to live a longer life. I began my journey by drinking more water, balancing my eating with exerting, all while trying to stay mentally well.

For someone in a similar situation as myself, there will have been an abundance of personal scrutiny already undertaken. As a freshman in college, I have had to look at many aspects of myself, then decide and plan accordingly to put myself on a path of success. When speaking of the successes I wish to attain, I believe that being a wholly well person is high on my list of priorities. In discussing the aspects of wellness,
Any individual that leads a healthy lifestyle will say that healthy living is more than just a fad or goal, it’s a way of life. Changing certain aspects of one’s current lifestyle to become healthier is not the final goal, rather, the objective of setting these short and long term goals is maintenance. Therefore, I choose to change an aspect of my current lifestyle that I felt would facilitate the improvement of my health and would later become a change that I can maintain over the course of my life; I choose to increase the amount of water I drink per day to improve my inner bodily health. I decided on this change because I feel that setting a smaller goal that I could easily monitor and execute will expedite future changes to my lifestyle,
My personal health has been something I constantly think about. Whether it’s myself, my parents, my doctor, or others that bring it up, I’m reminded that I need to eat healthier or exercise more, etc. I know that I need to get better about what I eat and try to work more exercise into my daily routine, I just find it hard to find the motivation to go and actually accomplish what I know that I need to do. Especially in today’s society where we’re surrounded by a lot of non-healthy food, and getting access to healthy food is more expensive than the latter, it’s hard to make the better choice and choose the healthy option. I’m hoping now that I’m in college that I’m able to get better at taking care of myself than I have in the past.
