The room is located in the east wing of science wing of the school. The physical structure of room is three desks placed facing in pairs to each other. It is a very small room with dimensions as 10 by 15. There is not a lot of room for separating students, making corners etc. For this activity 4 desks are placed together where desks are facing each other. We do not have an integrated science lab. In case of a need, we have to sign up with a regular education biology lab. There are a lot of technology resources in the room. I have three laptops, 1 smart board and an elmo. I have also put laminated dry erase marker poster boards which comes handy for activities like four corner, brainstorming, word wall etc.

This approach was also based on featured student’s interests and strengths and needs. His need is to increase his knowledge of anatomy related words so that he can that he transit smoothly to his college courses in massage therapy. The more terms he will know about a given subject, the easier it is to understand and learn new information related to that subject. The knowledge of important terms is critical to understanding any subject. His strengths include trying to read variety of materials on his own. Moreover the approach elaborates on variety of associations made with the academic vocabulary learning. The repeated and varied exposures allow students to deepen and revise initial understanding. Last not least multiple exposures anchors the information in permanent memory especially non -linguistic representation like image and discussion.
