Listening to and Watching Louis CK

As I started to contemplate what I would write in this paper, I had a difficult time remembering things that used to make me laugh. So I called some of my family members and got some interesting feedback! My grandma told me that I used to have a little glowworm and every time it lit up I thought it was hilarious. My mom told me that I used to love getting my picture taken and I though it was really funny to see myself when the pictures were done. I cannot remember the first joke I heard. My favorite joke now is: “What do you call a fake noodle?” “An impasta!” I remember telling this joke my freshman year of high school and I still laugh every time I tell it. Looking at the origin of my sense of humor, I can definitely point out certain people who have made my sense of humor what it is today. My parents are definitely two of the funniest people I know. From my Mom I get my silly side. My Mom is always being goofy and she always talks in random voices, which I find myself doing often. My Dad is really sarcastic and I definitely take after him in that aspect. I also find myself doing random little quirks I see my friends do. One thing that significantly changed my sense of humor is curse words. I have always been able to make people laugh and make myself laugh. However, it was not really until my sophomore year of high school where I was really introduced to curse words. Now that I am in college and away from adults most of the time I catch myself cussing drastically more than I used to. I do not really think I intentionally try to develop my sense of humor. However, my sense...

...hey feel real to me.” I think this quote form Louis CK completely describes my experience with his stand-up. I do not really think I would like Louis CK as a person off the stage. Most of the things he says repulse me or I disagree with (family and kids). So I am not necessarily intrigued by him as a person, but rather I am intrigued in the way his stories can make me laugh. I like how when I watch his stand up I never really know what he is going to day next. I know it will be hysterical, but he tells a wide range of stories so it keeps his performances ambiguous to the audience. I consider Louis’s work worthwhile because it gives me a good laugh. After a rough day at school, it’s nice to listen to someone curse about random and real situations. I really enjoyed listening and watching Louis CK. I think he is hilarious and I will definitely watch him in the future.
