Lincoln Electric is a company based out of the east side of Cleveland, OH. Being a Manufacturing company, they mainly deal with welding materials and electrodes. The company was started by Lincoln himself back in 1895 with a little inspiration and his second patent on an improved motor. It has been recognized as one of the most stable and great company 's to work for over the years through multiple different associations. However, what contributes to such success? In this essay, I will go through the aspects of the company and what has added to it 's growth, development and most importantly, it 's success.

They only hire outside employees when they have entry level positions (many of which only needing a high school diploma or less) and instead offer any other job positions to current employees only. This helps bring the employees who want to advance to the surface. In addition to this technique, you will see that with this company the turnover rate is nearly non-existent, especially if you don 't count the retirees and new hires. This is most likely because of all the benefits the company has to offer such as on the job training, medical plain, retirement plain, discount lunches, and stock options. These could be some of the reasons the company moral is so high, and turnover rate stays so low. The communication within the company is also unique to the company as there are typically are only 2 or 3 levels between the entry level worker and the president of the company at all times. There is a communication board called the “Advisory board” that meet with the company president 2 times a month to facilitate the employees wishes in addition to discussing options of growth and advancement for the company, its employees and customers. For example, looking at the organisational structure of IKEA, there is a clear communication within a human resources department.
