I went and watched the movie Lincoln to see what type of leader he was and what he stands for and acts like. I feel the movie didn 't do a good job at showing what Lincoln stands for. Most of the movie Lincoln wasn 't even in it. Even though he wasn 't in most the movie he still had a great impact on it and it did a good job at showing his leadership skills and what he stood for and how he was able to get what he wanted for a outcome. A few things to ask is what type of leader is Lincoln? Another thing to talk about is his verbal skills and how he can have a outcome by just giving a speech. This also shows his determination towards things that he wants.
I feel that Lincoln might have lead this country through one of the deepest politic crisis. His style of leadership is mostly bias and after trying to find out which one he was and after looking at many type of leadership styles he is I agree with the New York Times saying that he is a exemplary leader. He was sitting back in the movie and I know that they didn 't want to show him the whole time but he wasn 't able to show all his features I thought. Now Lincoln today as president would be interesting. I would want to see how he feels about everything that is going on. His morals would still be the same but the world he lived in is completely different then the world were all living in now. Money exceeds more than what people can talk about but I think that Lincoln would still be able to sway people to what he thought was morally right. I wish that Lincoln could be our president now. I feel that he was a hard and driven person by what the movie showed and got what he wanted. Thats what type of president that we need I 'm not saying that we don 't have one now. Abraham Lincoln is perhaps one of the most interesting characters to have ever graced the American political arena and presidency. He is most noteworthy, obviously, for his role in saving the United States from its own destruction and the eradication of the vile Southern tradition of slavery. However, upon deeper inspection, one finds there was much more to Lincoln than his political achievements. Throughout his years as a politician, there's a noticeable shift in terms of his character, and political persona. He seems to go from ambitious and boisterous to being more solemn and reserved. Also, it should be noted that some remark that Lincoln was, quite ironically, both America’s most democratic and autocratic President to have ever held office. However, it seems that though there is abundant evidence for his democratic values, there are little to suggest his autocratic intentions. As though some lines revealing such intent can be found, many are also directly rebutted by powerful democratic rhetoric. He did the unthinkable to many people because of the severity of the decision; he emancipated slaves in the United States. This caused him to be dubbed ‘The Great Emancipator’. The nickname he received is an accurate one because it is a major decision that shaped the future of America. This decision was long overdue and he made sure that the prosperity would not have to deal with the issue of slavery separating the government.
