Pandas are uniquely different mammals, but only some are left since they are an endangered species. Pandas are unique for a bunch of reasons such as their lifestyle. Pandas also live in a unique environment, but it is necessary for them to live in that habitat due to their diet which makes them mostly unique. They also have a distinctive appearance and they also have a unique reproduction habit. Pandas are fascinating animals to learn about due to all of these characteristics of theirs. First of all pandas have a different lifestyle than many other animals since they are also known to be anti-social. They can also live up to twenty years in wild, but they can live up to thirty years of age living in captivity. One problem facing pandas is their seeming difficulty in mating successfully. Females have a low frequency of ovulation (once a year in the spring) and the males demonstrate an infamous apathy toward females in heat ((2)). When mating is successful, the female giant panda will give birth, after 96 to 160 days, to a cub that is one-nine hundredth the size of her ((1)). Cubs open their eyes after six to eight weeks, nurse for about nine months, and stay with their mothers for up to three years before venturing out on their own ((1)).
They are highly intelligent, territorial, and will live up to years in captivity. That's 40 years of diapers in case you didn't realize they don't learn to use the toilet.
Giant female pandas become ready to reproduce at the age of 5 years, and can reproduce until about 20 years of age. Giant pandas can only mate once a year for a time frame of three days. Mating season is between March - May. A female panda will be pregnant for 95-160 days. Sadly if the mother gives birth to more than one cub, she will choose one of the newborns and move on without the other. The slow reproductive rate for pandas is the main reason they are endangered. In a mother pandas life she could have up to 6 cubs, but many do not make it. Female pandas can have 5 - 8 cubs in a lifetime. Young pandas can stay with their mothers for up to three years before becoming independent. Baby pandas nurse for 8 - 9 months. What is the lifespan of a
When I inquired about what made these particular animals so "unique," I thought I would go right to the closest, most reliable sources that I had. I first asked my daughter, who is seven years old. Her response was that they were "cute" and that they had "cute names." When I asked my wife, she told me that they were "cute," and that they were "soft and cuddly."

What animal is black and white and loved all over the world? If you guessed the giant panda, you're right! The giant panda is also known as the panda bear, bamboo bear, or in Chinese as Daxiongmao, the "large bear cat." Actually, its scientific name means "black and white cat-footed animal." Giant pandas are found only in the mountains of central China. They live in dense bamboo and coniferous forests at altitudes of 5,000 to 10,000 feet. The mountains are covered in heavy clouds with torrential rains or dense mist throughout the year. Giant pandas are bear-like in shape with striking black and white markings.
Currently, Giant Pandas are highly endangered with only 1,600 living freely in the wild and roughly 300 living in zoos or breeding centers. This low number of existing pandas means the species has a relatively high risk of becoming extinct. The pandas reside mostly in China around the basin area of Yangtze, which poses a major problem, because this area is currently one of China’s most thriving regions with constant destruction and new development. Therefore, the bears are pushed into small areas without the living conditions they are accustomed to. The pandas are continuously fighting for their lives in result of habitat loss, low reproduction rate, food shortage, and poaching.
Keeping these animals alive in zoos is challenging since they are very hard to keep in captivity. Some have fatally injured themselves to get out of their cage.
