The Heavens. Once an object of superstition, awe and fear. Now a vast region for growing knowledge. The distance of Venus, the atmosphere of Mars, the size of Jupiter, and the speed of Mercury. All this and more we know. But their greatest mystery the heavens have kept a secret. What sort of life, if any, inhabits these other planets? Human life, like ours? Or life extremely lower in the scale. Or dangerously higher ().
With this quote on the mind, the planet known as Mars or the Red Planet made a big divide in the scientific community. This divide is about the extinct of life on this planet. There have been numerous counts of scientific evidence that there is life on Mars. But also there has been scientific evidence that goes against this very ideal. The scientific evidence that support that there has been life and it is still there extinct today on this planet has stood the test of time even against other evidence that goes against this ideal.
Mars is most likely planet that has the ingredients of life that is need for a living organism in the solar system other than the known planet Earth. These ingredients of life are the following. The planet in question must be at the correct distance from a host star. Mars is a planet that is on the outer edge of being correct distance of its host star. Next item is that the planet must have water. Mars has water but its water is frozen in the planet ice caps or under the soil. Last is that the planet must have an atmosphere that is suitable for living organisms. Mars’s atmosphere is weak and it is being blown away by the solar winds form the host star. (""Life" on Mars") With Mars’s weak atmosphere the surface temperature of the planet is every cold and the water on the surface of plane...

There is a cultural assumption that there are many alien civilizations in the universe. However, what do we really know about extraterrestrial life? With recent findings of water on Mars and the discovery of Trappist-1, there could be hope for extraterrestrial life out in the universe. Even though the water on Mars is frozen under the polar ice caps and Trappist-1 could be far from finding any alien life, there are still many articles supporting the research and looking forward to finding additional news. In the article “Could the TRAPPSIT-1 worlds harbor alien life?’ written by Liz Fuller-Wright, she reports the announcement of astronomers that they found a miniature solar system of seven Earth-sized planets. Furthermore, the argument is effective towards bright individuals because it makes one think about what it will be if there was actually life outside of Earth.
This planet is about half the size of Earth, and the second smallest planet in our Solar system. Mars is usually known as the “Red Planet” because of its red color, which is due to the concentration of iron oxide and dust and rock covering its surface, yet it’s the main component is Carbon Dioxide. Mars has a very thin atmosphere, which leads to a wide range in temperatures because it cannot trap solar heat. Hence, Mars’ temperature is a lot colder than that of Earth’s, at about minus 80° Fahrenheit. Mars is home to the highest mountains and volcanoes in the Solar System, such as Olympus Mons (biggest volcano) and Valles Marineris (one of the largest canyons). Mars experiences seasons just like Earth, except that they are twice as long as that of Earth’s. The explanation for these giant mountains is Mars weak surface gravity. Mars has two known moons, Phobos, and Deimos. Mars is currently a very important target for NASA and other space exploration because it is the planet most prone to life, after Earth.
Many important themes can be drawn from reading Roving Mars that share important lessons about the scientific process. This personal account by the author, Steven Squyres, shares his story of passion toward being able to play a hand in the exploration of mars. The account shares many valuable lessons that we can learn for the scientific process and trend that appear in most scientific discovery. The greatest theme that can be gathered from Squyres story is that Science is never easy and it may come with many failures but the most important thing to do is persevere through these challenges. Another important thing to gather from the book is that not all discovery involves proving everything right or testing everything then and there to see if
In my Genius Hour Project, I researched long-term colonization of Mars. I chose this topic because I have always been fascinated by other planets and space. What we cannot see has always made me wonder. I pursued my interests in this project. I set a goal to learn about Mars. This experience has made me much more knowledgeable and curious about other planets.
In mid March of 1998, a scientific break through occurred for the engineers at NASA. The space probe that they sent to Mars came back and, for the first time, contained readable and usable photographs of the planet's landscape. Full of pride over their latest achievement, NASA posted the information on the Internet. This allowed astronomy enthusiasts, students, and other interested individuals to take a first hand look at the, never before seen, Martian Landscape. (NASA)
Mars is a planet that is 35 million miles away from us, yet it is one of the closest neighbors we have. From 8 years old kids to scientists who are 80, all dreamed of being on Mars. Even if the manned Mars mission would not be a reality until late 2020s, thousands of hardworking individuals are chasing their dreams. The Martian is a science fiction novel written by Andy Weir that focuses on the survival of astronaut, Mark Watney on Mars. Watney was one of the 6 astronauts on Eris 3 program; unfortunately Watney was left stranded on Mars during an emergency evacuation.
Poetry is known as an avenue to express one’s true thoughts and feelings in disguise, almost like sharing a secret
The existence of life – Aliens, beyond our planet has been a controversial topic for several centuries, and is a debatable issue even today in the 21st century. What is our topic you may ask? Aliens, Do, Exist. According to theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking, it would be improbable for life not to exist somewhere other than Earth. This is a bold claim, but there is evidence to support this statement. The evidence we seek is in the many Alien occurrences we have experienced throughout human history.
Tracy K. Smith’s “Life on Mars” is a collection of poetry dealing mainly in the search for a sense of purpose and the nature of people. The books is something of an elegy as a whole with many poems pertaining to death and the author’s struggle with the loss of her father. The poems are at once poignant and gentle in tone and leave questions than can only be answered in multiple readings. The book is segmented in four parts that travel through different topics and types of poetry. The mood ranges from passionate accounts of Orwellian politics to soft recollections of a lovers embrace; throughout the book Smith brings in references to pop culture, science, and technology that incorporate seamlessly with her words.
Abstract: Scientists claim that other life forms do in fact exist based on probability. The conditions necessary for life are likely to be present on various other planets. Signs of possible life have been found in material from outer space. Much research has been dedicated to proving the existence of life on Mars. SETI is a program entirely dedicated to finding and establishing communication with extra terrestrials. If other life forms are found, communication with these beings will be a difficult task. Laws to protect humans from the dangers of extraterrestrial beings are already in effect. Although contact with alien beings has not yet been made, technology today may make it a reality in the near future.

Scientists have dreamt over the possibility that it may be possible to live on another planet. Some think that Mars has that potential to support life, if it's hidden resources are uncovered and exploited to their full potential. There is even evidence that it once contained enough water that it had been possible to hold life. Think about it, what if we could transform it into such a place, even if only our children's children get to see any result? The following will describe Mars, present evidence of ice and water, give possible ideas for the future exploration of Mars, and give reasons for why it is important.
In conclusion, not one of Percival Lowell’s theories was ever right. However, he left behind a legacy for future space pioneers, as well as being a symbol of hope. He has also left behind a legacy for the public, which has never seemed to have gotten rid of the notion that there is life on Mars.
Mars, the beautiful red planet, is the most similar planet to earth. The terrain in general is very close to what we are used to on earth, minus the vegetation. Earth and Mars both contain polar ice caps. Mars also has water throughout the planet, but it is mostly subsoil.
Recently, two probes were sent back and they made it to Mars. They landed on the South Polar Caps of Mars. That is where NASA plans to find water. After landing on Mars, the probes extracted water like crystals from the surface of Mars. They found that there was a small amount of water in the crystals, which means that there is a strong chance that life, was on Mars at one time.
