Life of an influential person.
J.K Rowling is a good writer. She is one of the most affluence a famous authors around the world. Joanne Rowling was born in Yate, the United Kingdom, on July 31st, 1965. She likes to be called Jo. Her parents, Peter James Rowling and Ana Rowling, had two daughters: Joanne and Dianne. Joanne had two friends, and their last name was Potter. After she knew them, she liked that last name so much, and for that reason, she used it for Harry years later. She studied at Weyden Comprehensive. She continued her studies at the University of Exeter where she received a master 's degree of French and Classic Studies. After receiving the master 's degree, she lived in London, and worked as an investigator of Amnesty International. Joanne wrote stories for kids, wrote novels and her most famous book "Harry Potter".
Jo always loved to write more than any other thing. When she was six years old, she wrote her first story about a rabbit. While she became greater, she continued writing, but she never showed what she wrote to anybody except the funny adventures of her brave friends.
When she was 25 years old, she began to write her third novel. She left the first two novels because they were too bad. She was traveling on a train when the idea of writing a history about a young magician came to her mind. Some ideas as, names, place, etc are invented like “Quidditch" and “Muggle”. She also used names like Hedwig and Snape, a place in England. She had neither paper nor pen to write with. For that reason, she was ordering everything in her head. Harry Potter was born, and in the five following years, she would draw up the argument of the different volumes and wou...

In 2006, the title of the seventh and last book of Harry Potter was developed on December 21st: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. This book was on sale July 21st, 2009 and broke the record for all time by becoming the quickly book be unobtainable. It sold 11 million copies in the first day of launching only in the United Kingdom and the United States. The books of Harry Potter are distributed in 200 territories and translated to 67 languages.
She 's never let herself overshadow the books, in many ways Harry Potter seems so real, that we forget in fact it is just basically this woman 's vivid imagination on display for all to see in books and blockbuster films. I do think she 's one of the most remarkable rags to riches celebrity stories.
While reading the fiction book, Good Kings Bad Kings I realized that there was a strong connection between what actually happened back in history to those with mental and physical disabilities. Even though the book was wrote to entertain, it also had me thinking about history. For example, while reading through the book I would relate back to some of the readings we read in class. These readings were “An Institutional History of Disability” and "Disability and Justification of Inequality in American History". Some of the key things that, also, stood out to me were the way the youth were treated, how workers were treated, how ableism was presented, and why people were put in these facilities.
... book her characters are very three dimensional. She takes the time in the book to fully develop her characters which allows the reader to connect with them and stay interested in reading the book. In developing Harry Potter she makes sure that he is seen as a normal boy who is going through hard times, like every child does, and then throughout the book his character unfolds and becomes the hero in the book. This shows the children that read it that they can get through whatever is thrown at them and to never give up. Throughout the book we continue to see real world v. fantasy. This stuck out to me the most because it shows the children that read it how to have their own imagination to help them get through the hard times in their lives. Harry starts out as a young boy living in a closet but because of his fantasy world ends up being a very strong well known boy.
Dr. Seuss once wrote that “today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you”, but what makes a person unique? A person’s character is what makes them who they are. It is the foundation of personality, words, and actions, and it grows with every trial in an individual’s life. Personal struggle develops character because it brings to light what a person will and will not do, allows them to find or develop talents, it creates an opportunity to alter their mindset, and the experience gained will stay with the individual forever.
It lets children and young adults go into a fantasy world that involves around wizards, witches, and magic. This series gets children to start to read at a young age. I believe this series is deeply more because it can show what morally side path you want to go down life. This series of books show how the morally good people would act in a crisis and not in crisis. For example, Mrs. Weasley in books and movies series her character was the loving mother who loved everyone basically. But at the end of the books and movies, when she in a crisis situation with Bellatrix Lestrange, who is trying to kill her daughter. Mrs. Weasley puts down that friendly loving look and goes after Bellatrix. They battled until Bellatrix’s death. It was the first time we saw this character not in loving, happily mood. Her morals changed when she saw that her daughter was in danger. This series also teaches us how to break the rules. Even though breaking the rules is morally wrong, but in some cases breaking the rules is good for people. Its shows how even fictional characters are not perfect in a make-up world. But it does show heroic and virtuous character moments that don’t need a perfect character. This imagination by J.K. Rowling is truly impressive because she appeals to our heads and our hearts with her writing according to Philosopher Martha Nussbaum. She means that the way she wrote some of her characters and the scenes they are in they touches our self in different place like our head and hearts. This book also gives young children and adults to explore their imagination that could lead us to the next Harry Potter
! J.K Rowling is easily one of the most influential women of our decade due to her
Agatha Christie was born in Torquay, Devon, England on September 15th, 1890. She was the daughter of Frederick Alvah Miller and Clarissa Margaret Miller (Agatha Christie). Her father was an American who dwindled in stockbroking, but unfortunately died when Agatha was the age of eleven. (Agatha Christie’s Biography, Luzmore). Her mother “Clara” was the daughter of a British army captain. Agatha was the youngest child and had one elder brother and one elder sister. Her elder brother, Louis Montant Miller, was ten years older and her elder sister Margaret Frary Miller was eleven years older (Agatha Christie’s Biography, Luzmore). Agatha spent her childhood alone while her brother and sister were at school, and this isolation led to her extensive imagination (Agatha Christie’s Biography, Luzmore). She never received a formal education but was taught by her parents and nurse (Magill 94-97). Agatha Christie was able to teach herself the ability of reading by the age of five (Agatha Christie’s Biography, Luzmore). At the age of sixteen, she received her first formal education in Paris. She learned about singing and piano (Agatha Christie’s Biography, Luzmore). Later at the age of twenty five, Christie began contemplating the idea of being an author. She was told by her sister that she was incapable of writing, and this is what inspired her to start writing books (Agatha Christie’s Biography, Luzmore). In the year 1914, Agatha Christie married Archibald Christie whom she met while working as a nurse at the hospital (Agatha Christie). Archie and Agatha went on to have their only child, Rosalind Hicks, who was born on August 5th, 1915 (Agatha Christie’s Biography, Luzmore). This experience in the medical fi...
They represent us through our thoughts. Few people, as a matter of fact, like to read books because they enjoy it, just like the people in Fahrenheit 451 continued to read even when books were banned. Writers continue to write and obtain more ideas. That’s how we know about writers. JK Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series, which is said to be considered fantasy literature, drama, young-adult fiction, mystery, thriller, Bildungsroman, as well as magic realism. Seven books in a series add up to all those genres. With the information above about the books, I assume that Rowling grew up liking those types of books. The books became popular and soon became movies. Occasionally people like the books more than the movies, though movies are the same way. They also represent us even though it is not physically a book, it once was and still is. Books represent our thinking process and what we like. If we did not have books, we would all be the same and that would get dull after a long time. It’s okay to be different, it’s not a dreadful

Her books are all dedicated to her mother, "DEAR MAMA," "To My Mother," "To my mother." Her poems are the only chronicles I have of her life. In the second book we learn that she started writing it in the winter of 1968 in New York and finished it in Winnipeg in September 1971. Her third book is begun in Berlin that same year and finishes in France, in between she continues in Hebrides, Singapore, Steglitz, Meylan, Budapest, Iona, Cracow, Prague, Poland, Malaysia, Paris.
When the author of the author of the book, J.K. Rowling, was very young she had read a book about a rabbit quite, logically named, Rabbit who got the measles and a giant bee named Ms. Bee. After reading this story she knew that one day she wanted to become a writer. “Ever since I read Rabbit and Ms. Bee, I have wanted to be a writer” (J.K. Rowling)
“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities” (Rowling 333). This quote, from the beloved character Albus Dumbledore in the book The Chamber of Secrets by author J.K. Rowling, counsels young wizard, Harry Potter, about the importance of true character. Throughout the Harry Potter series, Harry struggles with internal conflict about whether his powers are meant for good or evil. Dumbledore assures Harry his powers are intended for good because of the choices he makes. Harry learns who he truly is through the challenges he faces and the decisions that follow.
Not only has J.K. Rowling influenced many women around the world, but she also has impacted many peoples’ lives. J.K. Rowling was a single mother trying to support her only daughter. She proved to single women that she doesn’t need a man to survive. J.K. Rowling shows females that they are just as capable as men. An editor of Good Housekeeping said “Everyone felt J.K. Rowling was the one with the most influence across the widest audience. As a single parent who managed to cope and pull herself out of poverty and create a massive entertainment empire on the way, she is very inspiring” (Nicholson). Rowling shows women that they don’t have to have super-model looks, or a wonderful voice to be noticed by society; they don’t need that to be an inspiration to people of all ages. Those important words to keep in mind underscore one of J.K. Rowling’s characters sayings, “Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest treasure” (Rowling). Rowling believes that people need to use their brains and a hop in their step to make it in this world. Rowling is such an inspiration for people everywhere, not only women- “Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve” (Rowling). In 2010, J.K. Rowling was voted Britain’s most influential woman. She topped the list of over 100 women who have the most influence in the lives of the Briti...
“J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter titles dominated the fiction hardcover and paperback bestsellers lists in 2000 at Barnes & Noble's superstores” (“Potter”). Harry Potter, being the focus of the novel, “represents a new soul force in the seeker who wants to go the Path of Alchemical Transformation resulting in total liberation” (Hans). The novel has many symbolic meanings, “Yet the popularity of the Harry Potter books actually has everything to do with our symbolizing tendency itself” (Siegel). JK Rowling uses many styles of writing, especially with
In June 1997, author J.K. Rowling released the first book of what would become a series of seven Harry Potter novels. After two years, during which two more books were released, Rowling sold the film rights to Warner Bros due to the books setting record sales and becoming best sellers in both the United Kingdom and the United States. “The books that harness a world much less dreary than our own and feed into every child 's dream of being magical, powerful and different, was enough to spawn off a franchise worth $24.7 billion in books, DVDs, movies and toys alone.”(Brinded).
