I have made significant contributions to the library in the areas of reference, outreach, and instruction over the past year.

I answered 133 reference questions through the LibAnswers platform and 124 chat queries from UMass and nationwide patrons, in addition to forty-four individual personal reference email questions and reference appointments with faculty, staff, and students. One reference appointment utilized a web conference/screen sharing service for a student in California in an effort to meet the evolving needs of online community members. In addition, I updated the content for eighteen online subject and help guides for reference and instruction use with a focus on incorporating more UMass faculty author publications, open access, and open education resources.

As a library liaison for the College of Science and Math (CSM), I continue to increase my outreach with faculty and staff through meetings and events, blog posting, and email communications. I attended events to learn about the research needs of the college and to highlight Healey Library services and resources. Some of these events included the Summer Research Symposium, Research Computing User Group meeting about Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and the Life Sciences Task Force (LSTF) Town Hall. At the aforementioned GIS meeting in April, I demonstrated how to access and use PolicyMap, a US national data and GIS mapping and analytics platform available through the library. An attendee of this meeting thanked me for bringing PolicyMap to her attention and said she would share it with others in her department. B. Service to the profession, government or community
I volunteered for the Association of College and Research Libraries New England Chapter (ACRL/NEC) Conference Planning Committee for the May 2015 conference. This involved attending monthly planning meetings, recruiting and assigning fifty volunteers to help with the running of the conference, and organizing the special interest group speakers as Co-Chair of the Volunteer and Host Relations sub-committee starting in August 2014.

I reviewed and rated eighteen applications for the 2014-2015 Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) in November 2014 at the request of the UMass Boston Asian American Student Success Program.
