Mr. Smith first approached me two years ago about the possibility of an internship in our company for the summer. At our first meeting I described the general outline of the project the he might work on. He asked good questions and appeared intelligent. He then went to the library and found many papers on the subject and read them carefully. He did this independently - I did not ask him to do this. Water symbolizes purity in this poem with lines 5-6, “The blue swirls of heart on your shoulder” (Addonizio 5-6). The speaker knows exactly where these blue swirls of water are at, on his shoulder close to her lover’s heart. Andri Hermawan has similar insight to these lines as well, stating: “ The word water stands for a symbol which relates to her boyfriend’s love as its object. The Great Gatsby is often referred to as the great American novel; a timeless commentary on the American Dream. A dream that defines success, power, love, social status, and recreation for the American public. It should be mentioned that this novel was published in 1925, which is a time when the American public had recently experienced some significant changes, including women’s suffrage, which had only taken place 6 years prior to the publication of this novel May of 1919. The women of this era had recently acquired a voice in politics, however, the social world does not always take the same pace as the political world. F. Scott Fitzgerald developed female characters that represented both women in their typical gender roles and their modern counterparts. I will be analyzing gender roles within the context of this novel, comparing and contrasting Myrtle Wilson, Jordan Baker, and Daisy Buchanan alongside one another, as well as comparing and contrasting their interactions with the men in the novel.

As a young Lance Corporal, my first impression of the NCO’s around the Recon Company was varied. As I got to know the others in my platoon, one started to stand out in my daily interactions, SSGT Moeller. He had just gotten off crutches, after a parachute accident broke his tibia and fibula, sitting on the catwalk icing his ankle. When I asked why he was icing his ankle he told me he had just finished an 8-mile run. Now, this was from an injury that should have caused months of painful rehab before running would have been possible, but here he was, sacrificing personal comforts, trying to get back to mission fitness. His reasoning being, he was scheduled to be the Assistant Team Leader (ATL) on the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit(MEU) and didn’t want to miss his chance for Afghanistan. Throughout recorded history, various cultures concoct their own methods of alternative medicine for treatment and therapy which is then relied on by todays nations. Medicine in its earliest times begins with the ancient civilizations' assimilation with the world around and their beliefs on how things function. Ancient Greek medicine may have began with spiritual beliefs but Greek practitioners had steered the medical profession in the right direction for modern times.

The letter of intent is one of the legal documents that is used in the initial stages of negotiation, for example, during the acquisition or disposal of a business. Letter of Intent, legally, is very confusing. In law, we either have a contract or don’t. Letter of Intent clearly states that it is not a formal agreement and then often proceeds to set forward agreed terms for the proposed transaction. Generally from the paradox, if the deal goes wrong or if there is a problem with the deal, One party can argue that a party agreed to the deal is a complete agreement, a binding contract and, in some cases, the party relied upon the Letter of Intent will have monetary damages based on its reliance on LOI. Therefore there is no simple answer whether the LOI is binding or not. The LOI can be binding, cannot be binding, some parts binding and some parts not binding.
I am writing this appeal letter, because I have received a letter saying that I am eligible to attend the University of Wisconsin La Crosse anymore due to my academic standing. I wish, and hope that you may reconsider. I have been attending this college for two years now, hoping to go on my third. And I would love to say that I enjoy this community very much and that I wish to stay. I wish to grow better as a student and as a member of the college community. Here in this college I am currently a leader of InterVarsity, a Christian organization on campus, and have been active in HOPE, a Hmong organization on campus. Although I have been active within the college community and have been success at it, I have failed towards being a student.

Emotional intelligence is sometimes referred to as EI or EQ. In their article, Colfax, Rivera & Perez (2010) stated that “Regardless though of how it is referred to, emotional intelligence (EQ) is concerned with understanding oneself and others, relating to people, and adapting to and coping with the immediate surroundings to be more successful in dealing with environmental demands” (pg 90). This statement helps us to recognize that understanding emotional intelligence can help us to deal with situations as they arise. We can also use emotional intelligence as a decision making tool. Emotional intelligence has four components which are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Self-awareness is when you can recognize your own emotions. Self-management means that a person can effectively control their own emotions. An individual’s ability to control and express their emotions is just as important as his/her ability to respond, understand, and interpret the emotions of others. The ability to do both of these things is emotional intelligence, which, it has been argued, is just as important if not more important than IQ (Cassady & Eissa, 2011). Emotional intelligence refers to one’s ability to perceive emotions, control them, and evaluate them. While some psychologists argue that it is innate, others claim that it is possible to learn and strengthen it. Academically, it has been referred to as social intelligence sub-set. This involves an individual’s ability to monitor their emotions and feelings, as well as those of others, and to differentiate them in a manner that allows the individuals to integrate them in their actions and thoughts (Cassady & Eissa, 2011).
