Letter of Intent
Dear Ms. Sweet,
We are very excited to have the opportunity to work with you on this project. We are certain that this will be an enjoyable and enrichening experience for everyone involved.
In order to raise money for the Parent Infant Center, we will combine all of our efforts to produce the best benefit concert that the center has ever seen. The target audience for the concert will be area high school and college students and all of the profits will go towards your scholarship fund.
We have begun contacting amateur bands from the area that are willing to compete in a “Battle of the Bands”. Since the bands are made up of University students, we predict that they will attract a large audience comprised of their friends and classmates. This event will be held on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania making it easiest for students to attend.
It is quite possible that we will encounter some difficulties while trying to organize this event. One difficulty could be that if we do not get enough bands to participate, we may not be able to draw a large enough crowd. If this occurs, we will broaden our spectrum and promote the event at other colleges and high schools around the area. It may also be hard to obtain an appropriate place to house the concert. We will try our best to find the most ideal venue for the concert and while we may not get our first choice, the University has many concert halls from which to choose. Ticket sales could also be a potential problem since hiring a professional ticket agency may be too much of a financial burden for our project. We will investigate the most cost efficient ticketing options and we will find innovative ways for our team to sell the tickets.
We will divide into three committees: a coordinating committee, a marketing committee, and a fundraising committee. The coordinating committee will find a venue and the bands that will compete. The marketing committee will be in charge of advertising and promoting the event.

The roar of extreme sound emanates from a football field. It is clear that this is not an ordinary high school marching band playing at a football game. These are Drum and Bugle Corps, boasting an instrumentation of all brass and percussion instruments. This arrangement of instruments can create an enormous amount of sound, sometimes louder than a rock music concert. Due to their thorough auditioning processes, they have a group of musicians, who can play extremely well, all of whom are brought together to entertain the crowds on their three month tour in the summer. Their goal is not just entertainment, but to end up on the top of the order when all is said and done at the championships.
The Big Bucks Corporation and Consolidated Industries, two major corporations have just merged. The two companies have picked Nashville, Tennessee as their desired location for a six-day planning meeting bringing together the upper management, which will now consist of 250 executives. They too, specialize in Meet & Greets. I believe that each of these DMCs would make a great choice simply because they all offer pretty much the same thing. The only differences would be how long they have been oper...
As it turned out, Jeff knew someone who needed a band for an ROTC Halloween party to be held in the basement of a campus dorm. The band volunteered to take the gig. Even though they had only been playing together for a few months, they had assembled a play list of cover tunes and a demo tape. They played under the temporary name of Blackwood Convention (Bernstein, 4).
A planning committee of school staff member’s needs be put into place for planning family engagement events. Committee members need to keep in mind the culture, ethnic, socioeconomics, family work schedules, and transportation options. Engagement events should vary in its time of day, and cost (if there is one) through the year to allow families to attend that may not have the typical work hours or income to patriciate in events that would have a cost.
It is evident that a college marching band, as a group, has a set of common goals that they want to reach. As a team, they want to provide entertainment for those going to the games by playing their music. Their aim is to set an encouraging tone throughout the duration of the game. The group has a way of communicating to each other and participatory mechanisms that truly make them active members. Even more specific to their team, they have their specific lexis, or vocabulary, and genre that they possess a level of understanding far above that of an outsider. As for differences in ranks of members, there are many for this specific discourse community. The team contains members of all different diversities in majors, race, age, and experience. The highest rank can be seen with their director, professor, and head coach, Professor Reese. From there we have the assistant athletic director, the TA’s, the section and student leaders, the band members themselves, as well as the Hurricanettes and the Color

Growing up something that always concerned me was people’s behavior, why they chose one thing and not the other, why some were happy and others were not. Based on this you would assume that studying psychology was a natural response but it was not. I had reached my senior year in high school feeling unsure about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I remember filling out college applications and feeling reluctant over what to put down as a major. I had narrowed down my choices to history or psychology. I was afraid I would choose the wrong one and that I would finish like many other students; being unhappy in my decision and changing my major multiple times. Eventually I did chose and after three years of studying psychology I find myself feeling excited and confident about my future in this field.
The season shuffled along with surprising ease. By this time we had learned all of the show and were weeding it out to make it perfect. While fulfilling the amount of work needed to create a spectacular performance, we had a little fun in Fort Collins at the CSU Band Day. Along with the CSU Marching Band, our band learned their marching songs and sets and performed a show for a crowd of over 15,000 people!

In the management process, leadership is the first and can be the most influential part of the process. Both Steve Jobs and Tim Cook have very similar approaches to leadership styles in regards to the vision for Apple. Steve’s is more on a vision for the future charismatic side where as Cook’s vision is tied into social and ethical responsibilities. While they have differences in the approach to the direction of the company, they use their position of power to influence decisions and visions.
I look forward to making this dream a reality. I thank you for taking your time to evaluate my application and take part in making this dream of mine a reality.
There are many different factors that affect education. One such factor is, socioeconomic status. Children who attend school in a wealthier community receive a better education than those students in poor communities. In poor communities, student’s education is not only affected by a lack of resources, but also from teaching methods and philosophies. Urban and poor schools’ students do not receive as equal of an education as their more affluent and suburban counterparts do.
The past two decades have seen an almost exponential rise in the availability and popularity of online college classes and degree programs. Their pervasiveness begs the question as to the difference in a credit or degree earned in an online setting versus that of the traditional classroom. These two educational delivery systems will be compared from the perspectives of flexibility, the student experience, the impact of technology, and the issue of acceptability of online classes and degree programs.
There are many disadvantages of taking online courses as well. Some individuals may find it peculiar not to be able to communicate with their instructor as well as their classmates face-to-face. Since the course is online some people begin to procrastinate or get slack in their studies. Taking online course requires you to type all questions that you may need to ask your instructor or classmate. One would not have that interaction with their peers. Not being able to use the schools property.
