Recreational drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, and heroin have been discussed about being legalized almost as long as they have been around. In attempt to solve this issue you must look at the pros and cons if this were to happen. We must analyze and understand how this would affect our government, as well as society and each individual person, which is just as important, maybe even more. Those that argue that they should legalize recreational drugs, which are district father thinkers, state that, if they were to legalize recreational drugs,the criminal rate would go down and that the health of an individual fall completely on the individual themselves. However, with the nurturing mother approach, we would be able to reduce the number of drug addicts along with the criminal rate, this statement is supported by study showing that psychological treatment such as therapy and rehab or more effective than putting the drug user behind bars. Which would also open many opportunities for district to better their economy. Those that are naïve to the actual effects of drugs would argue that marijuana is less harmful than alcohol, therefore, it should be legal. That statement shouldn 't be taken lightly, statistics show that into thousand six out of the 1.9 million drug arrests in the United States, 829,625 (44%) where marijuana arrests, and those numbers have only gone up. When comparing alcohol and marijuana, Marijuana is not save it on. Alcohol actually has some positive health effects, for example, one glass of wine with your meal actually improves health,drinking moderate amounts of alcohol reduces heart disease, stroke, gallstones, diabetes, and death from a heart attack. Unlike marijuana, which is highly addictive, has no good health properties, and is toxic to your lungs, there is really no comparison between the two.
