Why is marijuana illegal? The pros outnumber the cons substantially in relation to other substances like alcohol; if marijuana is illegal, than tobacco, alcohol and even caffeine should be also. The only reason it is even illegal is because of the government’s failure to listen to research and reasoning behind legalization. It is also based of exaggerated propaganda stated in the media generations before anything could actually be proven; they are quick to deem something illegal that they do not truly know anything about. When in reality, it is one of the safest drugs out there. Researchers state that it is virtually harmless if used in moderation, problems only occur when the substance is abused, but abuse of anything is harmful to the body, even too much water can cause health quarrels.
