Responsibility is one of the most important aspects that young adults need to learn in order to be successful their schooling, their work, and many other aspects of their lives. Therefore, wouldn 't it make sense to teach this at a younger age, before too many monumental decisions are required to be made? Driving a motor vehicle is a huge responsibility in itself. It is also proven that as a driver becomes more experienced and obtains more responsibilities through driving, they become more responsible in other aspects of their lives. This is very important, especially for young adults who will soon be living on their own and making their own decisions. This is because the majority of high school students begin living independently shortly after graduation, whether it be getting a job and their own house or attending college. The majority of 16 and 17 year old high school students hold a valid driver 's license. As well as several 15 year olds and 14 year olds. If the legal driving age was changed to 18 years old, then the age for a Leaners Permit would most likely change from 15 years old to 17 years old. As well as the legal age for a Farmer 's Permit being changed from 14 to 16. Therefore, what would the state do with all licenses issued to people that hold some form of driving permit but do not fulfill the new requirements. There would be a lot of controversy over any decisions made on either side of this question. If the state voted to withdraw all licenses that had been issued to those who do not meet the new requirements, all those with the licenses would be very upset.
