People all over the world can influence dramatically the development of society. Powerful leaders have the ability to shape history, and a select few have the distinction of truly changing the world. A great leader like Nelson Mandela was one of the world’s most influential leaders, and he was courageous and profoundly good human being. Mandela is one of my role model, and I have dreamed since I was young that one day I could meet and have conversations with him. I would like to learn how to think and see the world like him, and how he overcame all the obstacles. Even though Mandela passed away on December 5, 2013, I would carry his vision with me through the rest of my life—to make the world a better place. Mandela, who once said, “the struggle is my life,” was a beloved hero of both South Africa and the world itself. He was the first black president of South Africa, and he also was a noted human rights activist as he led South Africa’s fight against segregation and apartheid.
I truly honor him as a champion for human dignity and freedom, for peace and reconciliation. If I have a chance to sit down and talk to Nelson Mandela face to face, it would be one of the best moments in my life. If given the chance, Mandela …show more content…

Nelson Mandela strongly believed that everybody should be treated equally. Furthermore, he was famous for promoting a message of forgiveness and equality. Mandela encouraged people to be kind, and treat each other equally. This is perhaps the major lesson that Mandela gave to the world, despite being locked up for 27 years under an atrocious regime. He could have left prison a bitter man, but as he once famously remarked, “I knew if I didn’t leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I’d still be in prison.” Nelson Mandela’s message will not disappear. It will continue to inspire fighters for freedom, and to give confidence to peoples in the defense of just causes and universal
